Status update. In the process of shopping around for VPS. I am not going to go with godaddy because I do not trust them and would rather get something a little more dedicated with better customer service.

Support is their biggest issue. The way I see GoDaddy is they geared towards more novice users who are putting up blogs that auto install or very small time websites. They might be a nice launching point but for what I want to use it for I am not sure I trust. I have an account with them and I use it for some friends and family blogs, nothing that gets a lot of traffic and don't have too many issues but I am not sure I trust it for this.

They also limit access to certain server things I will need to do. Where if I get a VPS I have access to install and configure things exactly how I want and I can usually get a more personable customer experience.

They are great at domain parking but there hosting is not top rate compared to some others. At least from what I have seen so far.

That seems more for their own product. They seem to have decent hosting options but I think it is geared more towards people using their blog and website builder software. I built mine from the ground up using PHP, CakePHP and MySQL. I need something more customizable.

Updated the first post to lay out a road-map and keep a log of a better status. Using this forum for that for now but it will eventually be moved to the site when launched. I will make more updates to it when I get home tonight.
