Re: Let's Talk Customs Database

OK

I JUST pushed out the latest version which is introducing customs. I have not made a formal announcement yet nor have I written up any documentation on it yet. That will be coming this week, however I wanted to let you guys know first. This will be the first of many enhancements for Collection Stash to fully support customs.

Here is an example of my custom Walter White I am working on:

https://www.collectionstash.com/collectibles/view/3795

Customs will be built from parts from mass-produced official/unofficial collectibles, parts you personally made, or generic parts. Customs do not have to be approved you can create and modify them any time you want. You still will however have to submit mass-produced unofficial parts that might make up your custom.

For example, in my custom above I had submitted the Trevor Grove Walter White head sculpt and the Moe chem suit. The pistol was already from an existing part.

You guys can start to play around with it and see how you like it,what works and what does not. I will be creating a more formal release later as well as documentation.

Just stumbled across this project...

Awesome! Very clean site! Looks really great, man!

Re: Collection Stash: Customs Cataloging - Beta

As you guys know, we have released the start of our newest feature customs!

I have started to put together A Guide to Collection Stash with the first entry being information on how to add collectibles and customs to Collection Stash. The documentation can be found here:

Re: Collection Stash: Customs Cataloging - Beta

Looks great bro.

Maybe you can find a way to include this in emails to all new registrations :)

Re: Collection Stash: Customs Cataloging - Beta

It's looking really good buddy. Thanks for getting it all going. It's a great idea and I'm really looking forward to digging through it all.

Thank you! Let me know if you need any help or if you have any questions.

Re: Collection Stash: Customs Cataloging - Beta

We just pushed out a new feature for customs that should allow users to better organize customs that are a work in progress.

When adding parts to a custom, you can now indicate if you own it, want it or have it on order. This is great for me because I am working on a couple different customs at once and it helps me keep track of the status of each.

For example my custom Walter White I now have on my want list Entropy's gas mask.

Here is another example of The Dude custom I am working on. I have a couple parts already but I also have some parts on preorder.

Bumping this up. Looking for some people to help me Beta test our customs feature.

When I get some time this weekend, I'll try to add some things
to get a better sense on how it breaks down and lists items.

That would be fantastic! I will be around most of the weekend if you need any help or have any questions.

Wont take any password so can't register.

What are the password requirements please?

Ha that is embarrassing,I thought it had it saying what they were when it failed, I will have to fix that. It should be one capital letter, one number at least 8 characters.

Re: Collection Stash: Customs Cataloging - Beta

Got in okay now.

:clap

How long does it take to upload pictures?

I tried to do the 100, by putting them all in and then clicking
start on each, then hitting save. That didn't work.

I tried just one and it loaded after a few minutes, but did it twice.
Must have clicked it more than once. But now, I don't see a delete picture function
to get rid of the dupe.

Nevermind, I found it after I hit the upload picture button again.

Just a thought; It would be nice to see some kind of obvious progress bar and a pop-up that says it done uploading.

What do you think?

It almost seemed like I had to open another browser and go to the site again to see that the pictures loaded or hit refresh before
the pictures would show loaded.

If that was alittle more automated, that would be awesome.

Glad you got in! :)

What browser are you using? Might be a browser issue I have to address.

IE9.

After I refresh the pictures show up.

Guess I'm just used to photobucket style that
has a progress bar and a pop up after the pictures are
done uploading.

I can see how people could think pictures didn't load.
They wouldn't know until they hit refresh after the save.

Hmm, ok. I will have to try it out in IE9 and see the problem. I had issues with that uploader in IE9 before. If you do happen to have FireFox or Chrome instead try it in there it should work a lot better (there is a progress bar). I will keep you posted on getting it better in IE9.

Re: Collection Stash: Customs Cataloging - Beta

OK, I got a fix for the biggest issue which is when the upload is finished, the image and delete button are not showing up.

Unfortunately the way the uploader is coded, the progress bar will not work in IE9 but it will work in IE10. I am using a pure HTML5 / JavaScript based uploader. It makes the code more standard and future proof but some capabilities (like the progress bar) are lost on older browsers.

Sites like photobucket, usually use flash based fall backs. I am going to deploy the fix now and I will let you know when it is out there.
