Big 12-2 is toast. Texas has no choice but to try and save the conf but as soon as OU bails it will come crumbling down faster than Chris Farley eating a doughnut.

oh and a....

Texas AM notifies Big 12 it will withdraw from the conference. It could lead to the future demise of the Big 12. Might mean more changes to college athletics and realignment. :(

Now Texas AM is denying it. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

But Texas has a nice golden parachute with their new $300 million, 20 year contract with ESPN creating the Texas Longhorn network. :lecture

A Georgia loss to Boise St = bye bye Mark.:panic:

Should have been gone last year.

What is funny about this incident, is bar fights happen everywhere all the friggin time. Except this one the cops are making a big deal over. :cuckoo:
Hey, big time schools attract big time attention over stupid ____.

One wonders if university president Donna Shalala will eventually resign.
You mean Donna

They were 0-2 vs the SEC last year. Hope they enjoy being the Baylor of the SEC. :wave

OU, OSU and maybe TTech will prolly go with the PAC12 like what almost happened last year.

KState?

Kansas? Maybe the MWC or Big11. Their Basketball program is too good for someone not to grab.

Mizzery will still beg the Big11 for a invite that didn't happen last time.

Texas goes Independent.

Baylor and Iowa State will go to Conference USA where they belong.

Or basically what Vanderbilt/Kentucky is to the SEC now. :lol

I am. Program has gotten back the last few years to be quite a solid program. Just gotta take the next step.

It has, but you lost a solid QB in Blaine Gabbert. My Vikings were interested in him in the last draft but the Jaguars picked him in front of us. :(

I dont think texas would go independent. Unless they can pull a Notre Dame type BCS deal out (even more unlikely when the super conferences take over) they would have hard time getting National Championship or big bowl bid. I think they would either go sec or PAC ?

I am really not happy that Gilbert is starting for Texas. I've fought tooth and nail (whatever that means) for him not to. But he's got the most experience so they are starting him. Even if 'most experience' means he still sucks and will screw it up.

Sorry if that sounds harsh. But this is Texas and football is like water here. We need it. Oh well..hopefully Gilbert can do something positive for the team. Maybe he's been working really hard and things have changed. But all of the talks lately on the radio, etc. No one is particularly happy with the coaches right now for this.

That we did. Not really sold on Franklain to be honest. He very easy could be a brad smith type QB but that only gets you so far. You gotta have a QB that can pass especially with the spread. He would have been a good pick for the Vikes.

Yeah, you guys lost a great College QB. I think Blaine Gabbert has big time potential in the NFL.

The funny thing is my Vikings had the 12th pick and the Jaguars had the 10th pick. At the Vikes draft party, a "Gabbert" chant broke out when the 8th pick was finished. We all assumed the Vikes would trade up.

*DIDN'T HAPPEN*

About 100 people got up and walked out.:lol There were some angry boos. Instead we had to reach and take Christian Ponder.:slap Sure, he might work out but it was an opportunity lost.

EDIT: It's too bad Gabbert didn't take you guys to a big time bowl game in his career there.

It's all but official now with Texas A&M. From ESPN,

"Texas A&M announced Wednesday that it will leave the Big 12 Conference by July 2012 if it can find another home, preferably in the SEC."

You can bet that the PAC-12 commisioner is on the phone trying to get them to come over. :lecture
