LOL I don't take offense to your statements. I consider the source and laugh it off. You give yourself way to much credit for many things. Such as how you, a faceless poster on an action figure board, could ever effect me, or that your statements are gospel. Those are good ones. But the best one is that I wait around for your replies to immediately respond. You're not that important and there are other more interesting things here than waiting for your posts. Sorry for bursting your bubble, chuckles.
So, you "no" more about the game "then" me huh? WOW, you just exude intelligence...Get a frakin dictionary! :lol

Unfortunately for you when you click on user profile you can see what you're doing. When it says current activity "replying to post in College Football fans thread" and gives the time you started posting and it takes you about 10-20 minutes to respond. Yeah, can't argue that, just like everything else you've not been able to argue. Sorry about the spelling errors. It's 3:45 a.m. here. At least I have an excuse. It's all good though. Like I said and humbly request, put me on ignore and you won't have to read my posts or respond to them.

edit: By the way I'm still waiting for you to post that quote you're claiming. You've avoided answering every post I've made when you realize you're wrong and can't carry on the dialogue any longer, soooooooooooo....I'll continue to wait?

So back on topic. Other than the Oklahoma/Texas and Oklahoma St./Missouri games what games are you most interested in this weekend?

I think the LSU/Florida game will be very interesting. If LSU wins it'll be very hard to keep them out of the top 3 in the computers and set up what will probably be a playing for the rights to go to the national title game against Alabama.

The Vanderbilt/Mississippi St. game could be my upset pick of this week. Vanderbilt coming off the high of the win against Auburn and playing an extremely tough 1-4 Miss. St. team that hung in there with Auburn and LSU.

The Northwestern/Michigan St. game is probably the most evenly matched game this week and if Northwestern wins they'll be in the top 25 for the first time in a long time. They'll also be an undefeated Big 10 team with only two big challenges on their plate left in Ohio State and Illinois.

Notre Dame/North Carolina. Notre Dame would be ranked again with a win and being on national TV it could help recruiting. On the flip side if they lose to Butch's overachieving Tar Heels it would certainly be time for damage control. They have at least 4 more games afterwards that will be tough to win and they don't need another 6-6 season.

Penn State/Wisconsin. It sucks Penn State isn't playing a ranked Wisconsin team anymore becuase it won't look as good on the resume, but it would still be a big win against their toughest opponent yet, on the road.

Not really. We're almost unanimous underdogs in this game.

They have at least 4 more games afterwards that will be tough to win and they don't need another 6-6 season.

With the exception of USC (obviously) our remaining schedule is full of highly winnable games:

O25 @ Washington (likely win)
N01 PITTSBURGH (push, but edge to ND at home)
N08 @ Boston College (push, because it's freakin' BC)
N15 @ Navy (win)
N22 SYRACUSE (win)
N29 @ Southern Cal (likely loss)

Should we lose to UNC this week, one of the "push" games and to USC we would still wind up 8-4 and go to a second tier bowl. I'm expecting 8-4, 9-3 or better. 6-6 or even 7-5 with this schedule would be a disaster and doom for Weis, no matter how young or improved over last season's 3-9 nadir we are.

But on the national scene it's still Notre Dame vs. North Carolina. Even though NC is favored it would still be a big win for them in terms of recruiting at the program. My comment about damage control for ND is just about what a loss could do for the team psyche going into the rest of the schedule which you've listed below.

I agree they are winnable games, I'm just posing the possibility that they have 4 games that they could just as easily lose, and if they lose to NC morale is going to be down. I think Pittsburgh, Boston College, Navy, and USC are all push games that could go either way. I don't think you're giving Navy enough credit. They've played some very good competition and their two losses were close games, one of which was to an undefeated #25 ranked Ball State squad. They also beat a good #16 Wake Forest club. Not to mention Navy won the game against them last year.

I have all the respect in the world for Navy and the other Academies.

However, it's hard for me not to expect a win over Navy given that we'd beaten them every year since well before I was born. Until, of course, last season... when it still took them OT to beat what was arguably the worst ND football team to see the field in 100 years.

True, but I'm still keeping it in the "push" game category.

You watch my user profile to see what I'm doing? :rotfl Thats priceless! BTW this is "Dialog" spelled correctly. It's not 3:45 am.....whats the excuse now? :lol

As to our discussion....

My argument is this...you said "if" the BCS Computer rankings were released these would be the standings. You were wrong in that statement...they were released which is obvious because you supplied the links and they are updated weekly. Just because the official BCS standings have not been released yet doesn't make the computer rankings the BCS uses unofficial.
Another wrong point you state is those computer rankings are BCS rankings. You make that clear by saying "BCS Computer rankings". Wrong again. They are a complete separate entity. If you look at the links you provided none of them say that they are BCS Computer rankings...do they? No, they are listed as Massey Ratings, The Anderson & Hester College Football
Computer Rankings, etc. to name a few and are nothing more than separate computer rankings the BCS USES to compute their standings. So once again wrong statement by you.
I'm claiming your posted rankings are meaningless and you've stated that as well...no need to prove that. Now, I'm done with this crap. Argue away! :lol

Now to more meaningful things...
Being a Sooner fan, I'm very nervous about the Red River Rivalry...it seems most every prognostication I see has OU winning. The "experts" at CBS.com are all picking OU. I just don't see this game as clear cut as they do. In any event it will be a great day full of good games to be watched. I just hope I'm a happy Sooner when I watch them!

When you're having a conversation with someone and it's taking that person an unholy ammount of time to respond, I'd like to know if said person is still online to continue the conversation. In your case you just take an absurd amount of time to formulate an opinion and respond. Maybe you're just a very slow typer. Who knows. BTW, and I'm sorry to have to break this to you, you should have learned it back in school, but...

Nice try though.

Once again, I said these are the computer rankings. If computer rankings were official today that is exactly how they would be ranked by the computers. I'm still waiting for that quote where I said they are anything other than the BCS computer rankings. I posted BCS computer rankings, it's what they are. That statement is not wrong. You simply applied your own thought to it, and confused the BCS computer rankings with the BCS computer standings.

they were released which is obvious because you supplied the links and they are updated weekly. Just because the official BCS standings have not been released yet doesn't make the computer rankings the BCS uses unofficial.

They are not a part of any BCS calculations yet because the BCS standings do not get calculated until the 19th. So yes they have been released for you to look at, but no they are not official because nothing official takes place until the calculations happen on the 19th.

Not surprised that you've had trouble reading it, but if you actually look at the links they actually say exactly what I posted. They are called BCS rankings. Just so you have another chance to actually look at the links again. Here's some examples for you to go back over and try again.

The Only Original and Unaltered
BCS Computer Rankings...

Please read through this whole article it'll help you discern between the two.

Again, you're the only one claiming that they mean anything. I, nor anyone else have ever claimed that they were anything other than a preview of how the computers are ranking the teams. You may find that meaningless, but for those that enjoy the sport from more than a surface level like to look at all things to discuss. I'll continue to post computer rankings as well as human rankings. And again, if you don't want to view them or participate in the discussion because you find them to be meaningless, put me on ignore and don't participate in the conversation about them.

Anyone here heading the RRR? That is something I would love to do someday....

I'd love to go to one someday. Living in Atlanta, and with gas and air prices being so crazy right now I think it'll be a lot later than sooner(no pun intended) for me though. I have a friend that lives in the area that I may cash in on a visit one day.

I would like to do it soon. Mostly because I know they were talking recently about making it a home and home series...which would be a crime.
When my son is old enough to enjoy it it's something we will do.

Really? I hadn't heard that. I agree making it a home/home series is a bad idea. I don't like that setup for Ohio St./Michigan. I like the even playing field idea when two big rivals meet. Georgia/Florida still does it and Auburn/Alabama use to do it and I'd like to see them go back to it.

I just finished watching College football Live and College football Now and all of the guys are picking OU. It's scary and has me very, very nervous. It's seem sureal.
They all seem to say the same thing. OU has more talent on offense around Bradford. They also all seem to agree OU has a better run game...which I agree, and site Texas' secondary as a problem. Pretty much how I see it as well. Personally, I think Jermaine Gresham will have a big game and is a match up problem for Texas....particularly in the red zone. But this game like most will be won or lost in the trenches. So we'll see what happens!

BOOMER SOONER!

Clemson vs. #21 Wake Forest tonight, who's everyone picking?

I'm going with Clemson. This is a do or die for them and Bowden. With 2 losses and the harder part of their schedule coming up, coupled with the high expectations and hype they were showered with at the start of the year a win could put them back in the drivers seat of winning the ACC. On the flipside, Wake is coming off an emotional upset against a good Navy squad and may really amp it up for this game. Their schedule gets a little easier after Clemson and if they pull off the win they'll be looking to win the ACC. I'm sticking with Clemson though.

UAB vs. Houston is the other game tonight. I think Houston is the much better team so I'm going with them.

I want to know where Jbinny is at. Its ok to come out after the way Neb played. They showed they've got some promise.

Looks like Wake Forest pulled it off. With the harder half of their season out of the way, they're in the drivers seat now to win the ACC and get into a BCS game.

Looks like the first real test for both teams is exposing them to not have much defense.

I'm pissed they didn't give that interception in the end zone to Oklahoma. If they lose by three it'll be robbery.
