I'm saying you made it seem like those rankings you posted were what the BCS would look like if the rankings were released today. Hence, you putting BCS in your statement. The rankings you posted were simply computer only....not BCS rankings which uses human polls as well.

:banghead How did I make it seem like anything? I posted BCS COMPUTER RANKINGS! That's what they are, look on all the links I provided that compile the BCS COMPUTER portion of the BCS standings. Most links will say BCS COMPUTER RANKINGS because that's what they are.:banghead

I've never once proclaimed them to be anything other than what I posted.

LOL.....I don't have a hard time reading computer. I think you have a hard time understanding the meaning BCS. What good are the computer rankings alone? They mean nothing.....

I know exactly what the BCS is. You apparently are having a hard time. Please read the following link from ESPN where I pulled my original post from. You'll learn the difference between a ranking and standing and that the BCS is not an exclusive term used just for one poll. I've never said that computer rankings alone meant anything. I've never said this is the true poll. I simply posted information for those that follow college football to see how computers, which again, I labeled as computer rankings, are ranking the teams for an idea of what would be going into the BCS standings come Oct. 19th.

:rotfl Whatever dude. You're using semantics. The mock BCS standings are what everyone would go by if they were official. I guess I don't get why you would post meaningless computer rankings....

Your statement "If the BCS computer ranking was released today here is how they'd be ranked"....makes it seem like you mean the BCS standings. After all the BCS computer rankings were released...correct?

There is a reason they wait to release the BCS rankingings. Cause no way is Vanderbilt the 3rd best team in the land.

Vanderbilt isn't even the 3rd best team in their own Conference. Hell, they may not even be the 3rd best team in their own DIVISION of the Conference.

Those computers need some more RAM or something. :lol

Will be a shootout. Take the over. I'm thinking 59-49 type game. I think my Pokes are up to the task, but Mizzery has a decent D.

Just participate in the fan talk then and leave the rest of the football talk to those interested.

Thanks for the advice, but I will participate in whatever discussion I feel the need to. And obviously the BCS computer rankings have been released. So what are you talking about? :rotfl

Well, I'm not a betting man. But there definitely will be plenty of scoring....it wll be fun to watch and not many punts!

Well then read up and do better to understand instead of reading into things that don't exist. And no the BCS computer rankings are not officially released yet, because the official standings don't come out until the 19th. The rankings are unbiased now as of October 4th in polls such as Sagarin's ELO_CHESS numbers though.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL 2008 through results of 2008 OCTOBER 4 SATURDAY
RATING and PREDICTOR are now bayesian and the ELO-CHESS is UNBIASED now.

So you telling me that some of computer rankings the BCS uses haven't been released? Yeah right. Again, Your post was meaningless information. The mock BCS standings are close to where the rankings that mean something would be. I've spent too much time talking about something that means nothing....later. Hit me up when the official ranking are released.

Again, you have trouble reading and comprehending. The computer rankings exist yes. Without a BCS standing, and said computer rankings not being needed until we have a BCS standing on Oct. 19th, NO they are not officially released. They have been used for nothing other than an indicator of what, as of this week, the computer polls would look like that are going to be used when it's time to calculate the BCS standings. And I'm still waiting for you to find my post saying that they mean anything. So again, you're the only one reading into anything about this because I've not said anything other than exactly what I was posting. If you want to participate in the conversation, read it, comprehend it, and don't twist it into something it was never claimed to be.

Both are great conferences, but you may want to hold off on statements like that until someone from the Big 12 plays a decent team. This weekend will be the first.

So your saying TCU isn't a decent team? Weren't they ranked when they played OU? LOL

TCU is a marginally average team. Who have they played? As a matter of fact what Big 12 team has a win against a team that is currently ranked in the top 25? Better yet, there is only one team from the Big 12 that has played someone that is still in the top 25, and it's a loss, can you name them?

I'm not saying the Big 12 is bad. I'm sure based on the previous assumptions you misread you're doing the same for this, so I'll say it again. I'm simply stating that the elite in the Big 12 have played absolutely no one yet. Again though, they are a good conference, but in reference to the quote that you quoted me from the elite of the SEC have played far superior competition to what the Big 12 has played thus far.

They are not an indicator of anything. They are just a segment of the BCS formula of which you put stock into evidently. Do you have any other meaningless rankings you care to post? :lol

I'm saying TCU is decent. Obviously, the pollsters thought they were as well to deserve the ranking. Until OU crushed them that is. :lol

It's a useless endevor trying to make you understand when you clearly don't grasp the concept. So again, stay out of the conversation if you don't like what I have to post. It's simple.

All that shows me is your lack of football knowledge. Stick with the fan stuff you make me want to stop cheering for Oklahoma, I may not be able to wear my hat again.
