The great equalizer.
oh the horror stories i've heard about the urine raining down on opposing fans.
The great equalizer.
I see it playing out like this in the BCS rankings after the season and before conference title games....
1. Alabama
2. Penn State
3. Oklahoma
4. Florida
Conference titles:
#3 Oklahoma vs. #12 Missouri for the Big 12 title - Oklahoma win
#1 Alabama vs. #4 Florida for the SEC title - Florida win
National title game ....
#2 Florida vs. #1 Penn State - Florida win

Why OU ranked over a Texas team that beat them by 10?
Bama
Penn State
Texas Tech
Florida
Texas

I don't see Oklahoma passing Tech and Texas in their division. They have to win out and hope Texas loses again. Texas' remaining schedule should be all wins. And if OU doesn't improve their defense, Tech will beat OU in Norman and Okie State will beat them in Stoolwater.
Well I think it's safe to say everyone in the Big 12 needs to not only improve on defense, but I'd go so far as to say, actually play defense. If Oklahoma and Texas both win out Oklahoma would still go to the Big 12 title game on tie breaker rules. I agree though, OU could easily lose those games, I just think they'll pull it out.
Thats not the rule....first tiebreak between two teams tied is head to head.
You can't do that though because you'd have Texas Tech, OU, and Texas with one loss in the division. Since Texas beat OU and TT beat Texas and then OU beating TT. It would go to whoever is ranked the highest in the BCS which would be OU if they win out.
I said OU and Texas...2 teams not 3. Here are the tiebreaking rules....
TWO-TEAM TIE
* Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams.
* Division records of the tied teams within the division.
* Head-to-head competition versus the team within the division with the best overall divisional record.
THREE-TEAM TIE
* Combined head-to-head record among teams.
* Records of the tied teams within the division.
* Head-to-head competition versus the team within the division with the best overall (divisional or conference) record, and proceeding through the division.
I know, but if those two teams win out that means OU beats Texas Tech which would make it a three way tie, and it would go to the highest ranked BCS standee which would be OU. If OU wins out and Texas wins out, that means OU is playing for the Big 12 title.
Unless Tech loses again. Then Texas would be playing in the Big 12 title game. Like I said 2 team scenario...not 3.
