Does anyone know if C3PO and R2 are truelly confirmed? I currently have both the Medicom versions on preorder? I would love to be able to cancel the orders due to their high price point. Also I don't like that the wires on 3PO's waist are painted on rather then being real wires. Sorry if this has been answered and thanks.

While I wouldn't feel comfortable putting 3PO and R2 in the "truly confirmed" category (assuming you mean that they're coming out soonish), I would feel very comfortable in telling you to cancel those overpriced Medicoms and be patient until Sideshow releases theirs. They are being developed, though I wouldn't expect them to be released until 2014 (this is just my conjecture). Honestly, for the price of the Medi's, I'd just wait unless you need to have 'em ASAP for whatever reason (I understand if that's the case, I'm not judging!). Just don't think it's worth it for both the price and scale issues. And who knows, maybe SSC will use real wire on 3PO, too.

The droids are in development for sure; but like invictus has said you never know when they will actually be offered. I'd guess the PF's will go up for sale during SDCC or soon after and Sideshow tends to space out releases of the same characters... so I'd wager at least another 6 months to a year before we see a PO on them; not to mention an additional year of waiting for them to be released after that.
In the meantime I think the Hasbro C-3PO and R2-D2 are decent stand-ins that won't break the bank. If Medicom's were properly scaled I'd be all over them... but $400 for two short figures just doesn't work for me.

But once we know for a fact that something is coming (like Fox), and it has a release schedule (with the SDCC exclusives), does it still need to be on this list?
I thought this was more for items mentioned or peeked at but then disappeared without any reference made to when we might see it.

I would agree with that... those figures are both done. Just a matter of when the PPO is coming.

I think that is generally the way it works... but with con exclusive's i's possible that no leaks have happened (don't ever remember either one of these being mentioned before) and then we have a completed figure with a release date.
Really could go either way with it.

I noticed that IG-88 Clone Wars variants are on the list. Do you guys think they'll re-use the existing IG-88 mold for that or would they make a new, more simplistic mold more fitting with the cartoon style? How do they usually handle CW stuff? Hoping that they do re-use the mold as I'd like some IG variants but only if they fit in with his design and don't look kinda toy-like in comparison.

I would almost guarantee it will be a reuse of the current figure... just with a different paint deco and maybe some different accessories. Anytime you have a unique body like this companies will want to get as much reuse out of it as possible.

yea i see the same body being used with maybe some added on shoulder & helmet pointy doohickeys. i assume the very top part of the head would be new and not just an add onto the original. but i could totally see a snap on/glued on shoulder extension.
