So what specifically is the red carnation made out of?

I plucked it out of a dried flower basket my Mom gave me. :lol You can find stuff like this at Craft stores. Remember you want to affix it to the lapel, not pierce it. I recommend using magnetic tape, that way you can remove it at any time without affecting the jacket. The red carnation makes the figure IMO.

Agreed. Don't understand why SS would forget something as simple as that. Don't these guys even look at photos to check the accuracy of their work? Sloppy.

well as someone else already pointed out, the tux jacket isn't the same as in Goldfinger so maybe this wasn't actually meant to be the look from GF. that would explain the missing carnation. did Connery ever wear a white tux jacket w/ lapels like the Legacy fig?

I agree--- it's definitely something that I want to add when my figure arrives. Thanks.

When? Diamonds Are Forever?

No, this jacket was made for this figure, SSC hasn't made one like this before, the material is very nice, thick, well tailored, SSC just didn't care to pay attention to the lapel detail.

BUT, again, with a Red Carnation (which SSC also didn't care enough to pay attention to after so many of us requested they do) the lapels don't matter as much.

The "missing" carnation was my first and only complaint. Even if the jacket isn't the same I think the added detail really helps him stand out. Plus it'll look differenciate even more from the black tux version.

Do you think that this figure could benefit from a repaint? From what I can see he has some redness around his eyes. Maybe its from all the crying he has been doing due to the fact they messed his jacket up and forgot his carnation ?

GF and DAF are the only two Bonds movie that come to mind with Connery in a white dinner jacket. I just checked DAF and the jacket lapels weren't rounded like this one, they had points like the GF one.

Just received my fed-Ex notification---- my Connery Bond should arrive on Thursday to join her brethren...

First shot out of the box, pre-futz.
I'll try to get some more up this weekend.
Damn That looks perfect! I wish I didn't have to cancel my order. :monkey2

Did we confirm what this head is recycled from? Goldfinger?

Mine should arrive tomorrow...

Is it? I don't have the Goldfinger figure, and I need to do a side by side on the Legacy Connery and my Dr. No, but I like what I've seen in the box so far. Shame about the jacket, but I'll live. Seems like a decent bit of value put into the figure, even if it's recycled parts. So far I dig it, and am releived after hearing not-so-great things about the other Legacy editions.

Yes, it's the GF, best Connery HS IMO. I'm glad I got this guy, the Tux jacket is just amazing, well made, nice material. Just get a carnation to complete him and the lapels won't matter, your eye will be drawn to the overall Connery-essence of the fig. Love it.

Got my Sir Sean. Nice figure. A few things bug me though. The paint on his eyebrows is so thick it looks like he's got huge bushy eyebrows and the hairline isn't receded enough around the temples. And once again the Buck body is deficient in the leg, thigh, and waist area. He looks like he's got sticks for legs. I might try to pick up another Hot Toys body for it. Aside from that I'm glad I got him. This is the true Connery Bond figure to have.

Bumped this thread as my first of the Legacy Bonds arrived---- The Connery Bond is great and if you're a fan of the Bond 12" line and haven't picked him up I strongly suggest it before they're gone...

A very nice addition to the collection!

I got mine the other day, but the pose I have him in looks funny so I need to figure out a differnt pose. I was originally going to have him posed like the PF, but I couldn't get the hand to look good against the arm. Although I think that was a problem on the PF too so maybe I will live with it. Anyone got some pose suggestions?

As he's the only Bond with a box of cigs I'm going to have him sitting at the table (I'm making a Bond poker game diorama with one of each Bond in casino attire) taking a cig out of the box--- possibly with the cig already dangling from his mouth--- now what and how could I pull that one off?
