So it's $1500 or $1700 for a display stand for the other heads lmao I guess they get you in the end. I guess you'd just expect to get the stand and there's no reason for an EX to be a stand.

Holy moly what to do? Not sure really. If it's 8 payments it's really not too bad but if they pull a Last Knight with 5 that will suck. Still around $160ish I think up to $190 you know give or take on both.

I love it and so have $225 in points so I'll have to see. If I wait which I likely will at least until the month before I'd lose one month of a payment plan or it's nearly sold out if it does I'd possibly have another $50 in points.

I am considering a few other Star Wars pieces so like many of us I gotta make it fit my schedule although somehow all 4 pieces that 2 came already with 2 left all dropped into October. Funny how that happens grrrrrr

At $1699, I can assure you not too many grandmothers will be getting this.

Well, they may not be able to afford it but it still doesn’t change the fact that it is largely overproduced.

It’ll take forever to sell out and be easy to pick up for a while after. Loosing its collectibility.

Look at the busts, they are still in stock and their edition sizes are 1/3 of what this Maquette is.

Im most likely still getting it but it will be later. Just would have been more fun and interesting if it had a lower edition size.

Can you really compare a bust to a full figure? I personally hate busts and would never spend a dollar on one. I'm not taking away from them it's just preference.

I am still not 100% on it but my issue is either the stand or not. Don't get it then cry later. Maybe I'll find just a body lol

The deluxe comes with the bust stand AND the closed mouth head. The regular only comes with the open mouth head.

Interesting that the deluxe is closed mouth. Thought it would be reverse. Not sure I would ever display it with a closed mouth.

This thing is B.E.A...UTIFUL!! It's pricey for sure, but I just can't see a better dog ever being made. I'm getting the deluxe version as I really like the closed mouth personally. Maybe a 500 ES on the EX would round it off better, but it doesn't really matter ultimately. I suspect this will sell just fine.

The EX is an entire 1/3 second head. And incredibly accurate and intricate Dog Alien head with dome and all and the stand. While the EX is a good whack more expensive, I do think it is warranted for what you get in this case. Plus they have given the option of a regular without the head at a much lower price for those who don't require it. So they aren't really getting you, just offering a choice. $1500 for the regular isn't a bad price at all in today's market when you consider what it is they are delivering for it. The CM cost more and if you compare it to this, the CM hasn't aged too well frankly.

i wanted the closed mouth ... and buy from a retailer in germany to save trouble with the local customs.

well ... thats something to think about, because they will only sell the regular editions.

the price is high, but it is within my limit, so i will definitly buy one of them! can't wait!

I meant the cm alien. It's nice for sure, but the detail on it isn't up to the standard of this. Understandable given the time difference.

Oh ok I thought it was just the stand. Makes the deluxe an easy pick.

I'm on the fence not for all the typical reasons. My friend made a point on how many pieces I've bought and sold I had to have but here's the thing. I'm really not a huge Aluen fan and definitely not of the Alien Warrior look, just looks dumb but I love all the heads. They are just insane but the dog has a personality I just think looks more badA then I've seen in past versions so like many I'm drawn to it.

So buying it will be like spending on a Predator statue being a casual fan in a way.

I just don't feel like saving a few $100 is worth the tiny payment difference to miss out on the other head and stand. I happen to like the closed mouth as much. It's the pissed off look to me. Damn scared of the tail breaking, gonna be interesting to see the packaging and I'm figuring if I get it, I'll pick one spot and leaving it.

Anyone here want to let go of the stand and their least-favorite head for $300 plus shipping when the time comes? If they're feeling the closed mouth anyway, I'd be happy to take the open mouth off their hands and add a hundred profit. Maybe throw in an extra fifty for the tongues.

Oh yeah, this is way better in quality than the CM Alien.

And is understandable.

But I do think that people fail to see that these things will only get better though.

Is the EX ONLY available at Sideshow? (because that's what they imply).

It's a reasonable price considering the size and the complexity of getting that dome (& shoulder paint etc.) right in production.

Unfortunately, that will likely work out at over $3k CAD once you add in import taxes and ESTIMATED shipping - and that's assuming CURRENT exchange rate - which could go either way of course.

Basically DOUBLES the cost to us folks North of the border
