That is a real slippery slope. Put aside the fact that they are accusations, and relatively tame ones in comparison to what they could be, where do you draw the line with historical, literary figures? Orson Scott Card was homophobic as I understand it. Kipling is controversial for his colonialist views. Hemingway was a real piece of work, particularly when you consider misogeny (same goes for Ian Fleming and countless others).
Oh yes I agree. The list is huge. My initial reaction was one of shock but the more I thought about it the timing was awful and I understood why they did it. There are all sorts of cancellation of projects, Sandman is ending, Dark Horse is cutting ties with him. The age of innocent until proven guilty is completely gone.

Innocent until proven guilty is for courts of law, not the court of public opinion.

I don't think any form of sexual assault should be referred to as "relatively tame".

But I do believe in separating the art from the artist. His existing works should go on, even without him.

Kids aren't going to know or care and depending on their age they likely wont even be able to understand.

Let them read the damn book :lol.

Oh god public opinion needs to just stick to forums like this lol :)

Agree, most authors that I read at school have been canceled or mired in some sort of controversy.

These kids are around 13 and to be honest I think it’s an important conversation. My kids school has had a lot of bad press over the last few years and I think they just want to shove it all in the cupboard which is a shame because that’s the sort of thing that contributes to bad social behaviors.
