No movie, not even this will knock off Street Fighter as the worst movie in this type of genre, IMO...and you can add Double Dragon and Mario Bros to that list as well..hell Mortal Kombat definitely as well.

Mortal Kombat wasn't bad. It was simply a case of movie makers staying TOO close to the source material.

MK was all kinds of suckage..why?, simply no rated R with it..oh and the fact Sub-Zero and Scorpion were Caucasians for just regular scenes and Asians for fighting scenes...no blood at all...gore is what makes MK what it is.

G.I.JOE should not be compared to the likes of MK, MARIO BROS and STREET FIGHTER. That is unfair to those films that didn't have a fraction of the budget and marketing that this piece of crap does.

Instead, its peers will be films like BATMAN AND ROBIN, VAN HELSING, BATTLEFIELD EARTH, CATWOMAN, etc. Just monumentally bad movies that the studios spent hundreds of millions of dollars on.

It test-screened with an audience and received the worst test score in Paramount history.

That was never proven...sorry.

However, it did recieve bad reviews, that part is true.

But the director fired/Don Murphy board thing...I dunno. While it does in a way make sense, I doubt it's true.

Maybe it's just an inherently stupid idea to make a big-budget two hour film out of an eighties action figure line?

No. It was inherently stupid to let a *terrible director* make a big budget film out of an 80's action figure line. A fantastic movie has been made out of a Disney amusement park ride for crying out loud. I think it isn't too much to ask for a halfway cool movie about a special forces team who battles high tech terrorists.
