Crank was one of those films that really surprised me and this one looks to be just as wicked. Just have to decide whether to see this or 17 Again...

Well that's an easy choice, I hope there is a Crank showing after seeing 17 Again

THIS MOVIE SUCKS ASS. I really loved the first one even though it was OTT, but this one takes it way too far and it feels like a spoof of itself. No memorable moments like there were in the first movie.

thats exactly what Ive been expecting since I saw the trailer the first time.
The first was a lot of fun, but Ive thought the entire "Voltage" angle on this one is just plain dumb ....

I enjoyed Crank a lot, but the trailer for this one gave me no desire to see it. As soon as I saw him rubbing up on the old lady, I was waiting for Carmen Elektra to show up somewhere.

... good reviews could sway me... we'll see.

Don't think there will be many good reviews for this one. Its not been screened for critics. It had some LOL moments but not in a good way like In Crank but nervous laughs. It really was quite pile of poo. No storyline or original ways to get his heart going, just electricutes himself alot.

Don't be like that man. I loved the original. Top 5 movie for me, but if what you say is true, I am definitely scared to see it if it falls flat. I knew it had the potential to be really amazing like the first movie (granted hard due to original being original), or it could be a big hunk of crap.

Either way, Crank was so amazing I may have to see this for that reason. Is this sequel one that can ruin the original? For me I have a difficult time separating sequels from the originals. I find sometimes a weak sequel can taint an otherwise phenomenal original.

It's a very entertaining movie.

By no stretch of the imagination is it a smart movie, but as action movies and different movies go... it's entertaining.

I prefer the original.

This is a great movie. Not a film, not a essay on the problems facing society today, but just a kick ass movie. And it really, really moves. I don't think I've laughed so hard in a film in a long time.

Sure there are some moments that go too far over the top, such as the fight scene done

like it were from a Japanese rubber suit monster movie or the talk show with Chev as a kid

but the extremity of the entire thing is what makes it so entertaining. And it's not really dumb in a way that the Scary Movies are just mind-numbingly stupid - it's visceral and non-intellectual, appealing to entirely different places in your body and brain than where cognitive thought takes place. Don't take your grandma or even your very open-minded girlfriend; it's racist, sexist, exploitative and down right offensive in every possible way; but I had a really good time.

I was really looking forward to Crank 2, came away very dissapointed. I was dreading going to see Fast and Furious and actually enjoyed it. Seems most films I look forward to don't live up to my expectations. I'm obviously hard to please. I've only seen two films this year at the cinema which I generally thought were incredible, Slumdog Millionaire and Gran Torino.
