It appears the discounts for many of the Iron Man items have been reinstated. Picked up the Silver Centurion last night using WOLVIE15. Thankful for the free shipping, $18 shipped was a little stiff compared to other HT items

They purposely took off the free shipping and extra rewards when that code was released - if the code is released again I am sure they will take off the extras again.

I've read a few posts saying how someone doesn't like SSC for this reason and that reason but I have no problem with them. Sales and deals on major items on a regular basis, free shipping, and not to mention flex pay. I like BBTS too but I never see them doing that stuff.

Yeah flex pay is actually one of the biggest things about Sideshow that I like. I know I can save the cash on my own but paying four or five smaller payments makes me feel less bad than dropping over $200 for a figure at a time.

Yeah flex pay is actually one of the biggest things about Sideshow that I like. I know I can save the cash on my own but paying four or five smaller payments makes me feel less bad than dropping over $200 for a figure at a time.

Flex pay exists for the same reason as lay away and credit cards. Adults use these things all the time. Saving money paying at once is ideal though.

I agree, but the ultimate benefit comes in a situation where the product will or may disappear before you're ready (or want) to make your final payment. I've used it as a safety net like that before, even though I had the funds to pay for it right then and there - I just wasn't ready to take delivery and needed to push it off.

Other people will use it as a means to save money forcibly. Some will do it when the product first goes on pre-order.

The "benefit" of flex pay is not hard to understand. Those of us with a more limited budget can't plop down $600 at once for a couple figures in addition to all other bills. A $70 payment per month for a couple figs is much easier on the wallet spread out like that. Some people are so well off payment plans are unnecessary, but not everyone is. For example, I didn't have an extra $200 for Winter Soldier during that recent sale this pay period, but I can sure do a couple $100 payments.

Credit is different. You HAVE to use it in order to build it. How else will any bank ever finance a home for you? Yes, having $450,000 in cash would be ideal, but it's a bit unrealistic.

Saving $300 for a figure is not the same. One can easily set aside the same amount that SSC takes away each month by doing you that flex "favor". It really comes down to being responsible with your money.

That's my two cents anyway.

Of course it's the same amount of money. Why sit on saved money when you can pay on a total and be done with it? In the end it doesn't make a bit of difference. Yes I could just as easily save the amount I pay to SSC but there's no point when I know what I'm using the money for, and it guarantees me the figure.

No, it wasn't an impulse buy, I've been waiting for a deal and they issued that promo code recently that included Winter Soldier.
