Just wanted to let you guys know I first tried using it to preorder Exclusive General Grievous and it didn't work. It DID work on Exclusive Clone Commander Wolffe.

If at first you don't succeed....
The GETSCHOOLED code just worked on the 1/6 Harley Quinn and I have her on preorder :yess:

What's the point of the discount that this code gives if it just eliminates the rewards points you would get from the order anyway? I guess it only makes sense to use it on the cheap(ish.....Nothing is cheap in this hobby) items?

Pretty much, if you use the points program and redeem points, it's not worth using the discount on an expensive piece. If you don't ever plan to redeem points, or you're buying something that's not as expensive, then it's worth using.

^^^ Agreed. Pretty much an order of $400 will negate the $20 the coupon offers so you'd be saving with the coupon on everything under only. Everything above, you'd get more through reward points.

No,I see using a coupon as an instant discount instead of having to wait to order something else using points.

If buy a figure at 174.99 using a $20 off coupon...I saved instantly

Granted,If I don't use the coupon and just earn points, but my points earned is only $8.75, which I can't use till later....the $20 off is a better savings, especially if you are looking to save a few bucks NOW....plus I save some money instantly on my purchase instead of waiting to get some savings later through points.

So it's save $20 now, or save $8.75 much later

Exactly. I don't understand why people don't understand this. Not to mention most places you go to won't let you use a coupon and give you rewards points at the same time so it's not like it's a Sideshow only thing. They're basically giving you the rewards points you'd get from buying a figure up front and in most cases more than that since a lot of the coupons are for more than the points you'd get for just buying the figure.

Yup. My thing with coupons get a little more complicated because of CA sales tax. So sometimes even with a coupon it's cheaper for me to order through BBTS or somewhere else that won't charge me tax. A $20 coupon is only really useful to me for an item less than about $230, because otherwise, all the coupon is doing is canceling out the sales tax I wouldn't pay elsewhere. So I only use coupons for things cheaper than that, or stuff I plan on flexing. But with a pricey item like galactus, using a $20 coupon would be kind of stupid.

But it's not really true that other places don't let you get rewards when you use discounts. If I use a coupon at best buy or toys r us, I still get rewards point on whatever the total ends up being. If I pay $800 for a statue at sideshow and want to use a $20 coupon, I should still get rewards points for $780.

Like I said, if your order is bigger (over $400) you're better off not using it, but if you're buying something under $200, it's a no brainer, use it.

Thanks as always for the great info that Freak forum members always share. :wave
I canceled my PO on Heartbreaker and reordered with this coupon.
