But it's not really true that other places don't let you get rewards when you use discounts. If I use a coupon at best buy or toys r us, I still get rewards point on whatever the total ends up being.

I think TRU changed it a year or so ago so that you only get half the rewards points if there's another discount on the purchase.

Did they? I don't keep strict track of my points there, because it actually hate they way they issue certificates, but I do know they give rewards whenever you spend money.

Used it on Mythos Maul yesterday. Waiting for an October code for an Evil Superman purchase.

The other thing that kind of bugs me with the discounts is that you lose free shipping (when offered). Really have to pay attention and do the math before using, but for some things it makes sense the take the $20 and run.

In fact, the only place I've ever heard of that doesn't allow that is Sideshow. I've never seen any other store, online or brick'n'mortar, with the kinds of discount restrictions they have.

You can only use it on select figures. There was a list and they were all uninteresting figures, at least to me... No Hot Toys.

What surprises me most isn't that this code can be used for them, but that Sideshow hasn't already slashed their prices. They must have unlimited (free) warehouse space.

I think the codes that are handed out at places like SDCC are typically only good on things that they have left that aren't selling.

The monthly codes for $20 off are usually on stuff that's a lot more current, just not the latest releases.

That's what I don't get. SS has recently given away Angelica for FREE to certain customers yet they won't lower her price? They'd rather lose mind and give her away instead of jus lowerin her cost that will make some folks probably buy her.

I really hate watching the SS gift cards go to waste...and not having coupon codes for all the figures I want to order...but....it has taken almost 3 years, but I finally found a use for the gift cards that SS gives out. They put Zartan into the GC bin and I was able to get $50 off him! Maybe in another 3 years I can use one again.

Still have to find a way to change his hood...

Yes, the block that was in place that wouldn't allow coupon usage for that item was lifted.
