Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other stuff that has nothing to do with codes

You should enter, win, and sit on them. And then YouTube it. That would get views.

If I win a set of the busts I definitely will review them on my channel. I only think I've seen one review on YouTube who reviewed the set. I'd like to take a crack at them and give my opinion.

I'm not saying the contests are rigged or anything, I'm just stating my own observation . I've seen several of the same names winning to the point I don't even bother with the contests anymore.

Congrats to all who have won though.

Skimming through the thread I may have missed it but are there any codes that work on HT Falcon yet?
The next one will. The previous did, but is expired now.

Sideshow is having a giveaway on twitter for The Mechanic Tony. Good luck to whoever enters!

You guys are aware he puts in a lot of effort into his entries right? That last one for snapper consisted of 4 different selfies with his son in 4 different public places with his son.

Good for him, it was a joke. Hence the ':lol'

This would be an appropriate time to plug his Facebook page:

www.facebook.com/thegavinrichter

and his Twitter page:

www.twitter.com/kidcoulson

As he would say when he hands out his business cards at conventions (because he has them) "You can follow me on Facebook and Twitter!!

Also, I only enter contests for things that I'm interested in. Maybe I should start entering every contest? ;)

I was shopping around for Guardians of the Galaxy figures today. Usually, I go through Sideshow, and I know their reward system pretty well: one point is 1/20 of $1.00, or 20 points equals $1.00. I've got a decent amount stacked up.

But I was looking at Alter Ego Comics, which I've never used before, nor paid that much attention to (thanks to Sean Long), and I saw they have a rewards system, too. They advertise $1.00 earns 1 point. Case in point: Gamora is $190, and you earn 190 points, easy peasy.

What I'd like to know is: what is the $$$ value of one point, if/when I were to turn around and use the points on another figure? While spending $1 might earn you 1 point, I can't imagine that point, in turn, would be redeemable for $1. You buy a $200 figure, you get one free. So that's can't be right.

One thing I did notice, is that they offer 250 points free for signing up, which is also referred to as a $5 coupon. If that is true, each reward point is 1/50 of a dollar. And if THAT is true, a $200 purchase would amount to $4 in rewards. Whooptie freakin' doo.

Anyone who uses Alter Ego Comics care to shed some light on this? Help would be greatly appreciated :)

Sideshow is $1 for every 20 points
