Really? That's first I've heard. Anyone else feel this way?Not feeling that update on the sculpt at all. The paint looks very toylike and not realistic at all. I have to be honest, makes me concerned about my cat woman preorder. At least that is gong to be covered by a mask but I won’t be getting the penguin if that’s what they are considering for final paint.
it is waxy but the pic on the right looks too flat and if you make a 1/6 scale figure, things will look even flatter and more like a toy, so it's better to make it look better and exaggerateIsn’t his skin supposed to look waxy white flat due to him growing up in the sewers?
I do not agree with a lot of the newer constructive criticism here. You can’t win with every single collector; but I do agree the eyelashes are a bit blotchy. Your team is doing great work and Viola is an excellent sculptor/painter.Really? That's first I've heard. Anyone else feel this way?
I feel ours looks better than the waxy white flat make up in this screenshot

I agree it’s the painted eyes. In general I think it would be better to show prototypes that almost match the final product especially when it comes to the eyes which are an essential part. Implementing the moving eyes in the prototype stage would be a big step. Either way I have preordered Catwoman and hope the rolling eyes make her look even better than the promo shots. It’s the eyes; I think that’s what’s giving off the toyish vibe. Especially the exaggerated crows feet.
These eyes are very clearly hand painted, which won’t be an issue with the rolling eyes hopefully using some highly detailed decals inside a glossy sphere- so that should fix one issue straight away.
The eyelashes however definitely need to be significantly thinner. The lashes on InArt Paul are crazy. They’re not just uniform vertical lines; they cluster just like real eyelashes and are pretty much 1/6 thickness. That’s where we’re at now with realistic details. Some super micro printing going on there I expect.
Penguin’s skin on the sculpt appears more chalky than clammy/waxy so maybe experimenting with a satin varnish finish would alleviate that without making him look glossy like a toy. Keep his teeth more glossy though of course.
