Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other stuff that has nothing to do with codes
I was shopping around for Guardians of the Galaxy figures today. Usually, I go through Sideshow, and I know their reward system pretty well: one point is 1/20 of $1.00, or 20 points equals $1.00. I've got a decent amount stacked up.
But I was looking at Alter Ego Comics, which I've never used before, nor paid that much attention to (thanks to Sean Long), and I saw they have a rewards system, too. They advertise $1.00 earns 1 point. Case in point: Gamora is $190, and you earn 190 points, easy peasy.
What I'd like to know is: what is the $$$ value of one point, if/when I were to turn around and use the points on another figure? While spending $1 might earn you 1 point, I can't imagine that point, in turn, would be redeemable for $1. You buy a $200 figure, you get one free. So that's can't be right.
One thing I did notice, is that they offer 250 points free for signing up, which is also referred to as a $5 coupon. If that is true, each reward point is 1/50 of a dollar. And if THAT is true, a $200 purchase would amount to $4 in rewards. Whooptie freakin' doo.
Anyone who uses Alter Ego Comics care to shed some light on this? Help would be greatly appreciated
