It's already been mentioned a few times by different users, but why can't we have a dedicated thread strictly for codes? No fake codes. No talk. No BS. Just legit codes. You can still have this thread but a code only thread would be very helpful and streamline the entire process for people instead of searching and searching through a thread.

Weren't the vast majority of the fake codes always labeled "blah blah blah" is not a valid code? I don't remember seeing many that were stand alone.

Not only that but in a lot of cases the fake codes were ridiculously long, and like somebody mentioned earlier, with the fake codes, it would be a one and done post, whereas when real codes would be posted, you'd have tons of people posting them right after each other saying how much it was worth, and within minutes the thread title would be changed as well to reflect the new code.

That was my point as well. So much quicker to go scan 3 accounts on twitter and facebook.

There are three different Sideshow accounts on twitter and facebook? I was just looking at twitter.com/collectsideshow and facebook.com/sideshowcollectibles. Are there other Sideshow accounts?

I think that would be the best option. Sticky that thread and only allow legit codes.

Could someone fill me in on this fake code fiasco thing? Sideshow went after people in this thread? Haven't been on as much today.

Sideshow mentioned in a tweet that they were getting inquiries to customer service about a lot of fake codes going around, presumably the ones that people in this forum were posting as jokes.

Its sad that those who did something wrong, per Darklord Dave ( the person in charge here ) , can't just own what they did and realize it was wrong. Posting fake codes serves no purpose. If those who posted fake codes were looking for a laugh and looking to be entertained at the expense of others, then what was the purpose of all the supposed help this thread was supoose to offer?

You are right, I own it, I posted a couple fake codes. Why I did it was because others were it was funny, we were all joking around killing time waiting for something to happen and we were having fun with each other. I also made sure people knew they were fake when I posted them with comments like This Code will get you Nothing.

This seems like the best solution. One dedicated to codes and one dedicated to the event! This thread was awesome until the very last day.

Every single legit code made it to the front page of this thread, and into the title of the thread. Nobody needed to scan the thread at all, they were all right on the first post for the "busy family job people"

But I do agree with the idea of splitting the code and event threads. Makes more work for the people who were updating the code page, and the future code thread might not get updated as fast if the people are chatting in the event thread, but if thats how it should be then I think it works.

there was, on the first page. the problem was people would log in, won't read then see a code looking text and pop it in. The good news is that we won't have this problem till next year.

I myself enjoyed this spook with a lot of fellow freaks in here. It's not the $5 code thats so important it's the waiting, and interacting with people here that is fun.

I don't know, if the most work that somebody had to do was sift through some fake codes while waiting for a legit one, and got 5 or 10 bucks out of the deal without following the direct sources of the codes, I'd think they made out like a bandit.
Again, it sucks that SSC took on some people confused, but as a whole, I don't think it should have to be changed to separate forums.

And? Fake codes didn't change the speed at which Sideshow allowed them to be up. Hell I was here participating in the whole thread and missed three codes because of the times they went up, and the times they were up for, and I didn't call Sideshow and cry about it.

Even when real 10 minute codes went up, they hit the thread title, and they got spammed 40-50 posts in this thread, NOBODY who was paying attention during those windows thought they were fake.

Cofphoto has posted all the codes on the first page and on thread title ppl. I couldn't follow this thread this year as much i did last year. But even when the fake codes starting to pop up I knew they were fake...

That was posted by Chicky at 2pm today but wasn't directed to the public. After we found out people did stop posting as many codes and made sure all of them stated they were joke codes.

So...official Sideshow twitter, official Sideshow facebook, a SideshowChicky twitter account, and three different accounts for Susan? That's six sources to have to be constantly looking at? I can see now why this thread was so attractive to people. I can also see now why so many codes slipped past me until they were mentioned on this thread--I was only looking at the two official Sideshow pages.
