Hah, I bet. If it were me I'd be eyeing the Captain America 2-pack with Steve Rogers. Too bad the Rocket/Groot 2-pack is just over $350.

That's something I'm realizing now. Pretty much anything I want badly is waaay under that value or just a few dollars over it. If you strictly go with whats exactly that amount you're down to four items to choose from and whether your really want them or not.

That is entirely a possibility. The fake codes (fakegate) were of course started in good fun while people were passing time (totally understandable and was all innocently started). It's unfortunate that fun can turn sour though. Unfortunately, having our CS department flooded with folks inquiring about fake codes causes issues (even more so when there are other customers trying to get through with all sorts of other inquires but can't and so on). Fakegate wasn't malicious of course it's just unfortunate that good fun ended up having a very bad side effect that those just having fun didn't intend. As such, having our CS bogged down due to an unfortunate situation will cause us to evaluate the future. Should we offer these kinds of codes in the future or not? Is the potential problematic side effects (that even we didn't foresee possible) minimal enough to still offer this kind of incentive or is it too much of an issue? Nothing is decided yes or no right now of course, so reward point codes may still happen in the future. It's possible they won't either.

That's very unfortunate, because it was such a nice gesture for SSC to offer, what is essentially "free money" that none of us even deserved. As for the complainers, I chalk it up to them being humorless, entitlement babies that shouldn't have been given the time of day. Well, it's either that, or they were trying to pull a fast one to get some free vouchers, by complaining about codes that they already knew were fake.

I hope that SSC will be kind enough to offer codes at the next Spooktacular for all of their fans. And going forward, maybe SSF can have a rule in place to not post "fake codes" so people won't get confused by them. It always takes a few weirdos to ruin the fun for everyone...

Someone yesterday posted a nice Bill Murray gif - I touched it up and thought I'd share it back. Fixed the aspect ratio, cropped distracting elements and froze the background to significantly reduce the file size (from 1.5 megabytes down to just over 100 kilobytes). Enjoy.

It was posted on Twitter they were "drowning" in calls. So I would say yes a large volume of calls.

A possible solution would be for Sideshow to simply e-mail the codes to everyone who has an active account with them. If we get the code directly from them, it eliminates the question of its validity and there is no one to blame but ourselves if we fail to check our own e-mail. We can always DISCUSS the fact that there IS a new code, but refrain from listing it. Couldn't the moderator(s) enforce that?

So how would that be different from them sending out a code in a newsletter? They already send out the newsletter in batches, and quite a few people never got some of them this week. Then you'd get a whole batch of new complaints from people who know there's a code but never got their newsletter- some of them will be impatient people who couldn't wait an extra 10 minutes for it to arrive, and some will be those stuck waiting for a day for an email to never arrive.

Congrats again on your win! As much as I wanted a pick of Sideshow prize, I sorta ran into that same problem of picking what I'd want. Which is why I never even entered the contest (that, and the only candy I have in my house is maybe 30 jelly beans).

I probably doubled my (meager) post count from just this thread the past week, but as much fun as I've had, I'm kinda looking forward to getting back to the rest of my life again. It was disorienting to wake up this morning feeling rested and not have to constantly refresh Twitter, Facebook, and this thread; but I'll probably get used to that. Thanks again to everyone for updating us with the codes, and hopefully we'll be able to do this again for 12 Days next month.

Thanks again to Sideshow and all the guys who posted and emailed the codes. I went 12/13 for a total of $65. Not too shabby. Also picked up a couple of figures.

The fake codes were obviously fake
You would have to be a dumbass to not be able to tell the difference.

I dunno, I thought the fake codes were funny. It was pretty obvious they were fake. It was just the n00bs who couldn't pick up on it.

It is also pretty pathetic for people to freak out about not getting $5 in rewards. If you need it that badly you should not be in this hobby.

I'm rather done with talking about joke codes. I hope Cofphoto isn't put off by all this and is still willing to update the first post and title of this thread - it's obvious that none of the folks complaining will do anything to help the situation. So I will put forth again my suggestion to move this thread from the Marvel forum to the Sandbox forum. It's an off topic thread in the first place and best fits that destination. I hope cofphoto agrees.

I would liken the atmosphere of the thread the past few days to the last few days of school, just longtime and new members chitchatting back and forth, cutting loose, blowing off some steam and having a little silly fun.

I don't think anyone here was posting false codes with malicious intent, or to get one over on anybody, or to make life more difficult for Sideshow employees, just something to do to pass the time and have a few laughs.

It was more like a big, collective, inside joke.
