Well, to get things back on topic . . . about how long do you think it will take SS to respond to the contest winners? I'm thinking a few days at the least.
It takes days even weeks.

I'm waiting on confirmation from Dave on whether or not future Sideshow events like Spooktacular, Black & White Friday & The 12 Days of Sideshow will be posted in the Board Business Events forum only.

I didn't even realize that forum was also member-only or I might have suggested it. Knowing how jokes can go flying in this thread is one of the other reasons Sandbox came to mind first.

Well this explains my loss in post count. Lost about a 100. Like someone said before, I will get to celebrate 4000 again. LOL. Now back to talking codes, fake codes, and sand people.

Hmmm, just a thought but maybe people weren't pissed off because of non-working fake codes at all, but rather because the real codes seemed to use conflicting shorthand. In one code a "1" is an "i" and in another it's an "L" - that's super confusing. Very easy to make mistakes - most people do not know about the existence of cut and paste - if you've never done IT support, take my word for it.

Yes, people called in about real codes from time to time not working but in a situation of a real code someone has a problem with it's easy and quick to assist folks with a real code. People calling in about fake codes (which there were MANY calls and chats that occurred) takes longer as the person inquiring about it doesn't always believe the CS reps (9 times out if 10) when they inform them about it being fake and so they will keep them on the line for an extended amount of time because they aren't getting the answer they want. In some instances yesterday some of our CS reps had to endure being yelled and cursed at over fake codes. One could say that's part of the territory in that sort of position within a company but it makes me sad and frustrated when a human being has to endure bad treatment that they are undeserving of.

But again, the fake codes were not started or even continued as something malicious (at least that's my perspective). Just unexpected side effects occurred.

It will probably be a few weeks before winners start getting emails regarding their prizes.

Yes, people called in about real codes from time to time not working but in a situation of a real code someone has a problem with it's easy and quick to assist folks with a real code. Alex, I'm sorry that happened, that was not our intent. No one at Sideshow should have been yelled at or cursed out.

It shouldn't be part of the territory. I run my own sales business and do my own customer support. My volumes are relatively low, certainly compared to an operation like Sideshow, so I don't have to deal with too many crazies. But it happens a few times per year and it's a real downer. Imagine not being only a CS rep, but also being responsible for the creative content of your business and having to deal with someone very abusive and unreasonable. There are times when dealing with a single person ruins my entire day. A few weekends ago, against my better judgement I replied to someone on a weekend. Worst decision ever.

Especially when Sideshow's CS is so professional, friendly and accommodating. I kinda wish those calls could've been directed toward some of us, but that would've only made the problem worse. :lol
