Yeah, that's unfortunate. Nobody at SS CS deserves to be berated, especially over codes whether they be legitimate or fake. The idea that some leecher would have the gall to call up SS CS and throw a tantrum over a promotion they didn't receive is pathetic at best.

That being said, this whole thing is overblown at this point. Do I feel bad for the CS reps that had to sit through that garbage? Sure. But for some perspective, SS has had Marvel collectors on their knees begging them for characters they ignore as well as far better quality control on those they have done for the better part of half a decade, and we've been completely ignored. SS does the same characters ad nauseum and almost every Marvel release is a qc ridden train wreck. I guess I'm jaded, but it's hard to have empathy for SS these days when they have completely shut us out.

Yes, people called in about real codes from time to time not working but in a situation of a real code someone has a problem with it's easy and quick to assist folks with a real code. People calling in about fake codes (which there were MANY calls and chats that occurred) takes longer as the person inquiring about it doesn't always believe the CS reps (9 times out if 10) when they inform them about it being fake and so they will keep them on the line for an extended amount of time because they aren't getting the answer they want. In some instances yesterday some of our CS reps had to endure being yelled and cursed at over fake codes. One could say that's part of the territory in that sort of position within a company but it makes me sad and frustrated when a human being has to endure bad treatment that they are undeserving of.

But again, the fake codes were not started or even continued as something malicious (at least that's my perspective). Just unexpected side effects occurred.

In all honesty I only remember there being about ten pages of joke codes and that was intertwined with the regular conversation. It's still surprising that it had that much of an affect in a seventeen hundred page thread. However, it makes me no less sympathetic. Though I didn't participate in "fakegate" I'm sorry to hear it had such repercussions. I hope the headaches are at least over for you guys now or coming to an end.

With my first ever post on this site I just want to thank all the people who assisted with posting the codes on this thread, it was much appreciated!!! I was a "lurker" but the fun I had with this thread is why I created this account. And no I definitely wasn't one of the idiots who called customer service about fake codes. Those fools should be waterboarded. Hopefully see you all around

Thanks! Just to throw in my 2 cents, I seriously can't believe the issue with this fake code thing. All I saw were people joking around passing time between codes. And when a code was real it was painfully obvious because it would get reposted over and over again. I wasn't on any email or text list, but I still got 10/13 just casually checking this thread about every 10-20 min. I think lots of people here are missing the point of this thread, yes getting some free points to offset the cost of this stuff is nice. But part of the fun is also the jokes/banter etc. If code seekers are not willing to or smart enough to wade through the conversation then tough. This is an internet forum after all. I don't think "I'm too busy" is a valid argument. Again thanks to everyone who posted codes and also thanks to the people who made it fun!

Thanks for the take. At the end of the day, that's what we were trying to do - getting as many codes into as many Freaks' hands as possible.

Had a great spooktacular this year. Flint and Zartan statue plus 1/6 figures of Bruce Banner, Zod and Supes. Not to mention all the RP codes. I was a bit disappointed because I couldn't add Jo-El to the order with Supes and Zod because it kept replacing the 30% off code with the $75 bundle for buying Supes and Jo-El together. Happy with the haul though, some great deals and it was fun hanging out with everyone on this forum. Hope everyone else had fun.

Yeah I am pretty sure some of use just popped out "words" with numbers intertwined. It was the assumption that the real codes would be posted on another source. Myself and others never had malice of intent. People are just st00p1d if they called and yelled at SSC staff. What kind of person calls a company and yells at the staff to give them free money? A person usually demanding money from someone elseis either a moocher or a robber.

I seriously hope we have an invitational thing next year. It's annoying to have people ruin a good thing for others. Anyways, Ive beat this horse to edeath about "fake codes" or "words with numbers" as I call them.

If SSC decides to do anything for the holidays, I'm happy to set up or join an invite thread or group to share intel.

I don't collect statues (not so far at least) but if I did that WW PF would be on my list. Really nice.
