I want free things. I spend a lot at SS because I don't get free things. The amount of money I spend doesn't mean I deserve to get anything for free, but if SS puts up contests and other opportunities to get a free piece I'm going to take a shot. I nominated myself last year because no one else is going to do it I may be wrong but it seems like last year they said it was ok to nominate yourself. This year seems to be geared toward nominating someone you know. Regardless, SS will make the decision on who gets what so what difference does it make who sends in a request? I just think it's cool they do stuff like this.

. I didn't even realize this year was different than last. I just remembered they did some sort of giveaway last year as well. Agreed, no one deserves anything based on expenditure. I've never said that was my reason nor am I sure why it was ever implied to be, I merely asked what options are sideshow more likely to give away so that in the case my friend is selected, I can give her something rather than nothing, not sure how it turned into am attack on me c'est la vie :

Damn, man, I'm sorry to hear that. How are you doing now? Were you able to recover/replace just about everything?

I'm doing alright, buddy. Had to move, re-bought only some stuff over retail, but that's life, no complaints here. We were all hit hard, many worse than me. Just thankful friends, family, and myself to be alive.

Definitely. I am usually very optimistic, and while the naivety in that sometimes bites me in the ass, I still think we need a lot of optimism when we're surrounded by so much pessimism in the world, at least in New York,

It was actually 2 years ago, or 3, i can't even remember anymore as I've moved on from it. Love in the moment you know?

There was an email a while ago with a link, but there might be something on their site, either holiday gift guide section or maybe in their blog/social media section? I'm on set right now, but if i was home, I'd post you a link.

I also realized I never said "tricks" in my original post, that was Kenobi . Apologies for the rant guys, I just don't like being accused of things that aren't true, otherwise I usually don't say much and mind my business.

Yeah. More than anything some of these make me wonder: A) how much lower they'll go when they don't even sell at these discounts; and B) which preorders should I pass on, with the understanding that there is a chance it will be on one of these lists sooner or later?

We lost power for days, but obviously that's nothing compared to what you and others went through. I'm glad you and yours are safe and doing better.

Give people and opportunity to gain something by lying, from the minuscule to the grandiose, and people will lie to get it. It's sickening and disgusting but it will happen. Sideshow's thought behind the granting wishes thing is noble and I love it. Unfortunately people will take advantage of it. It's sideshow's job to sort through and discern the honest from the dishonest. One has to hope that those who would claim outrageous lies to gain sympathy and a toy are bad storytellers.

By the way, I'm not referring to anyone in this thread, just that I am sure some people lie grossly and make up horrendous things like losing loved ones or made-up tragedies or diseases to gain favor.

Last year I nominated my friend who hasn't been able to work much for the last two years after a car accident (and years of football) ruined his back yet still he supports his daughter, brother, mother and often his grandfather. Guy can only afford to buy like one maybe two hot toys a year and loves them more than most do. I'll probably do him again this year for the Bank Robber Joker. I already spotted him half the cash for the armory set though. Maybe my good intentions are better geared elsewhere this year.

They will be giving MoS and Tonto figures away during christmas, which means they will be able to give away another 16% of inventory lol. But seriously, I don't see what is available now that will be able to go on sale for Christmas.
