12 Days has historically

Alex, no one is arguing about history. But it's a good opportunity to change and not repeat the past nonetheless.

so for folks to suddenly think the event is this and that is simply head scratching.

This isn't something that's sudden. I appreciate Sideshow following the forum and the level of participation here and on Twitter and Facebook, but if I'm being honest, the repeated line about history and this head scratching comment offers a little proof that you guys just aren't as in tune with your fans as you could be. Instead of trying to change people's expectations after the fact, maybe you guys can take the criticisms and reflect on them to figure out how you may want to handle the promotion in the future - even if it means changing nothing.

Those that want full product previews should look to Thursdays

This is along the lines of what I said - reveals and previews happen regularly, which makes the "12 Days" even less special and even more of a non-event. If I was investing money to run a promotion, I'd want better returns and a higher level of participation/interaction. If you guys are fine with things the way they are, ok. But there are plenty of people that find it lackluster and I'm just trying to let you know that you're missing a big opportunity and not engaging with your consumers and fans as well as you possibly could (this time around).

I'm one of the first people to speak out and defend Sideshow's products and actions here and in other threads, but I can't do it this time.

Awwww you only wanted to address part of my post.

In the end appeasing everyone is impossible. One percentage thinks something is boring while another percentage does not. The items rolled out in 12 days are done so in the most feasible way they can be. If artwork can be shown it will, if part of the actual piece can be shown it will, if only a title treatment can be show it will.

Alex you were quoted in the LOTR section as having said that no Premium Formats from the Hobbit films will be produced after all. Can you confirm?

I do not know about LOTR but for The Hobbit there are no future collectibles for that line at this time.

Thanks for the confirmation. Are you allowed to say anything at all as to why? So many great potential PF's from those films. I'm just curious since the license was officially announced and then something obviously happened to change things.

I really do not know why it never came to pass as I'm not privy to a lot info when it comes to product development.

Well said. I would love to see more pics of the pieces that are announced but it is what it is. 12 Days is not like Spook and never has been. Last year was the only year I can think of in which reward point codes were given during 12 Days, which should be considered a nice little bonus for last year and not a guarantee for every year following.

If SS were to go by the attitude of this thread as representative of their customer base (which I hope they don't), I think this would be their response

Thinking of changing the title of this thread to "You can only please some of the people, some of the time". LOL geez.

Personally I'm glad I didn't have to stay up all night for RP codes, and also that there are no new POs happening right after Christmas when I have no money.

Nothing says happy holidays like an entitled mentality. 12 days is something the company doesn't have to do,and certainly something you don't have to participate in if you don't enjoy it. Whining about not getting reward points or not being happy with the previews is fairly childish.

I spent about $1000 during Spook and I stopped following 12 Days after Day 2

I have plenty of money to spend but nothing has really peaked my interest yet.




Does SSC do any promotions in the first half of the year (January to July)?

I'm just waiting for a few discount codes so I can buy a few things. I already used the monthly $20.00 code on a preorder. I'm looking to get a silver centurion for a little less like SS had at the beginning of the month.
