I cant wait to get mine up and going,but like all my projects,it takes time.in the meantime I hope we get a bunch of pics of custom dr. dooms on here.I like to see what other people do and from thier customs use the best ideas to make the best custom possible.

Sweet. Ever since the PF I've been wanting to do a throne for a custom 1/6 version. Agreed on the chrome. And I always thought Seb's use of that armor was brilliant.

Nope, don't mind at all, glad people still like that one, I have him on display at a local comic store at the moment.

Im thinking about chroming the icons doom when I get to him,what do you guys think? would it be to much?

Well the porlbem with the icons doom is that the armour looks really cheap.
I was surpised by the proportions too everything is huuuuuge and articulation really bad.

Im planning on chopping him up and just using the best parts,kinda like sandman1 did with his.Im just wondering if I chrome the armor if it would be to much since that version of doom has alot of exposed armor.Im along ways away from this project,but I am planning it in my head so when the day arrives to work on him I have a perfect plan to follow.

I wonder why Hot Toys doesn't use that same type of paint and add a more chrome finish to figures wherever it is appropriate (IM Mark V, Thor, etc)?

Thats a good question, the paint isnt that expensive.and it does make a big difference

Personally, I prefer the darker look rather than chrome(unless you could do a black chrome), but then, I was trying to stay to the comic version.
And the icons body is horrible, I just used the head,forearms, and calves/feet.
Looking forward to your take on the character.

Well that is definetly possible. Since you do have to paint the part gloss black first. And if you lightly spray the achlad on it will look like a black chrome finish.i will try that out on icon version.
