That's AWESOME! Once you get the castings, could you take photos of it next to the SS Jedi Luke head, and the full body so we can get a sense of the scale? I can't wait to see how much more 'proportionately correct' it is compared to the GIGANTIC SS head. :rock

Yeah that will be huge.. I can not wait.. :chew

Abake,
Are you going to be offering both versions, Grand Master Luke and the good all Jedi Luke? :D

Nah, unfortunately the sculptor decided to retouch the existing sculpt, but he said he would be open to doing a Grand Master Luke if there was enough interest.

I hope you guys like how this one turns out and then we can start thinking about other possibilities!

definetly.. I would be totally down for a Grand Master Luke.. :chew
If you are interested I can probably fund it..

Not bad. There is a wideness about the nose and the mouth that I don't dig. But over all a very good effort.

To me it looks right. I seem to recall something about Hamil being in a car accident somwwhere between ESB and ROTJ. And he did look different somehow between the two films, though I have no knowledge of the extent/nature of his injuries. In ROTJ, he definately looked different. His nose and mouth did seem larger/slighly off from how he had looked before. If this sculpt was for ANH or ESB, I would say it was off. But for ROTJ, I think it's right on.

Is this what you're talking about? Sorry my SW knowledge is rusty. I just always refered to him as 'Dark Empire' Luke. If your sculptor does the head, I would be interested in doing the rest as a kit. I started one years ago; a collection of Vader costume parts I was going to cast. I also know how to get the suit exactly right; not the top-stitched pleather we usually get.

Mate I would be really interested in this outfit. If no one is interested would you be willing to put one together for me?

Abake, one thing. if you guys start casting these heads for sale, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go transparent fleshcolored Resin. it makes a MASSIVE improvement on the sculpts.
and as for dark jedi lukes... I can't help myself... quoting Hurricane...
I need to take more recent pics

heres more recent shots, the casted SSc Luke head went thru a bit of a rework, well,i did try, looks far more angry, hair altered, cape added, uses all the SSc maul hands with added leatherette gauntlets plus two clenched fists, costume needs fiddling a bit more, then some decent piccys........

I'm not sure how the flesh-colored transparent resin works... could you send me links? Can it be simply bought? Is it a mix of some kind?
If we can do it, we'll give it a shot!

I'd be interested in that as well... I know there are haters, but I always thought that was a cool series :rock

I dunno... anytime you mention it there's always people who complain and say that Luke as a Sith was a terrible idea.

I asked a simular question to someone else on the boards abake, i got a response, and i'll forward you the info he forwarded me on how to do trasparent flesh colored resin.

Luke as a Sith was a terrible idea. True story. :lecture

Saw the first test castings last night!
We're extremely happy with the results and I'll have the final production pieces ready by the end of next week.
There's still a couple of little details fro John (sculptor) to iron out, but Fabio did a quick paint up job (very rough) and the result is fantastic!
I really think we have a wonderful head sculpt to share with you guys.

Next week I'll be traveling to Mexico, so I probably won't be able to share any updates, but by next Sunday I'm sure the final casting/pain up will be ready.

We don't have the transparent resin yet, so these will be cast in white resin.
As we get better at this we will give the transparent resin a go, but bear in mind this is the first time we do this... it really depends on how things work out.
It's really a private custom project of mine, but if there is enough interest we will do our best to work with new and different materials to give you guys castings or fully painted head sculpts.
So stay tuned and hopefully you'll like what you see next week!

Thanks for the update Abake.. This work great since I am also going to be traveling next week and dont want to miss out on this sculpt.. :chew

Hello guys!
Sorry for the no-show, but I had a miserable time in Mexico and then got back here on Friday night to get the birthday party for my daughter ready on Saturday and today has been kinda hectic...
Hell, I haven't seen the finished, painted castings myself yet!

Anyway, my friend Fabio (painter) says he's very happy with the results, so I'll be checking it out tomorrow night (hopefully) and I'll try to have pics up by mid-week or week end at the latest.

Sorry for the delay!

I love mine! I would never get rid of this figure. Even when I get rid of all my 12 inch figures he will remain. :bow
