You are welcome to stop by my office in South Salt Lake anytime.
OOOO I need to drop by and see! The Utah freaks need to do lunch or something soon; there are quite a few of us now and that would be nice.
Now let's get down to business. Yes yes Palpatine is amazing and Mikey should will a medal or something BUT! this Legolas is my favorite of all the works he has ever done. The skin tone is absolutely flawless, the hair color is perfect, and THOSE EYES!!! It's not just Legolas or Orlando Bloom--it's both, which is always THE HARDEST thing to get in a figure. I try not to covet things, what with the Ten Commandments and all that stuff, but I confess my sins here before you all right now--I covet that Legolas figure! Man I want one so badly! Augh it hurts just to look at it--standing next to my Les Faramir, it would make mine the most powerful display of 1:6 Lord of the Rings figures in the world!!!
You have surpassed yourself yet again. Congratulations!
Beware the power of the Ring Cap!
Seriously though, Mikey is as good as ever with these Palpatine and Legolas shots. Obviously his absence hasn't effected his skills at all. Josh and Les may get the most attention now, but if Mikey keeps this up regularly now, there will be a deadly trio of awesome painters!
I fully own up to the fact that I've passed out of the public eye as a premiere painter on this board. That's okay. I don't mind passing the gauntlet to friends/colleagues as talented as Les and Josh. Along with Darren, there is already quite a trio of awesome painters.
I'm pleased to come in every now and then with something I'm proud of, gather up a few extra clients, paint for a while, then disappear for a couple of months while on an acting gig.
My goal is to finish all of my current commissions before I go to CT to play Lancelot in Camelot. The race is on, and I AM taking new commissions.
I'm humbled Mikey... You were and always will be the original Freaks Superpainter in my eyes. When I came in here, just starting out, with my very rough horror items, you helped get me started. And then Les came, and Darren. But to me, you'll remain the original. Who started it all for me. I was inspired by your work, so I picked up the brush and ran with it. Would never have happened had I not came to this board.
I do get bummed you aren't around as much anymore, but I'm happy that at least it is for a great purpose. It's awesome that your acting career is doing so well and that you have those jobs coming. And when you do peek in and show us your custom work, it always stuns. I for one am just happy to have this great, very large group of talented customizers and painters on this board. It's really amazing what it has evolved into.
