YES! This must be so!

I don't know when you're coming into The City, but I'll be in CT on May 31st (fundraising concert), and I'll also be gone from June 21st to July 21st (playing Lancelot in Camelot). Other than that, my schedule is presently open! I'd love to meet you and Jane!

Got a while yet. We get married on Saturday the 27th September, and fly out to New York the day after. I think we're in the city for 2 or 3 days... then we pick up the 30ft RV and head off across the country for 4 weeks.

We have to meet up! Even if our schedule only allows a quick coffee/lunch or something (and we don't know yet) but whatever... I'd love to! I told Jane what you did (theatre) and she thought it was cool.

Oh.. and she was VERY impressed with your Leggy paint up! :rock (she thought the hair was a bit shiny, but that was the only negative, lol) I hope you get some commissions from it.

... You were and always will be the original Freaks Superpainter in my eyes.

That's exactly how I see Michael too. His were the first repaints I was looking at, before I even got my first 12" figure... thinking "oohh... I see how I could do it now" Getting ideas and techniques from... and just admiring them all!. I remember when I was waiting for my first figures to turn up, KNOWING that I would resculpt them, and then paint them... I would keep going back again and again to Mikeys works, they got me so excited to get started myself, and to see how these figures could turn out just had me so excited to give it a try and see if I coudl do it as well as I thought I could :rotfl (being a painter... I did have a bit of "I could do that!" in my head :lol )

Anyway... it's always great when you pop your head back up Mike, and even better when you bring some new work with you! :bow :bow :bow

Glad the acting thing is going well! :rock

I received Sith-eyed Palpatine today and my jaw dropped. You know that crazy realistic feel you see in the pictures Mikey posts? It looks even more real in-hand. I kid you all, not!

Thanks Mikey for an amazing paint job. :clap :clap :clap

(pics and maybe a video of it, to come)

Holy sh** !!!! That Palpatine paintjob is a massive kick in the nuts !!
When I see your works, mine make me feel like a child with my very 1rst painting box.

Just a quicky to show you my Chan Ada sculpt of Dr. Gregory House all painted up. I think the sculpt is a bit lumpy, but the likeness isn't too bad. Someday I'll build up the full figure or just sell the head. Takers?

Love the paint ap on this but the sculpt is very rough. I knew House had a pain med addiction but I didn't know about the Meth problem.

Hey Mikey, can you tell us about your new avatar?

Hey Pix... it's from his Medusa figure he made during the Female Figure Challenge a while back. It was the first Custom Challenge we did. If you haven't seen it... you really should check it out, probably buried on page 7 or 8 of the Customs thread. :duff

Oops, I just saw this... Thanks DA for answering.

It really looks like a great piece... kind of reminds me of a Kurt Cobain painting.

Honoring the man and his Medusa! :bow
:rock :rock

Cool works bro! :rock

Thanks, Les and josh. I'm afraid I haven't shown a lot of new works lately. That will change in the coming months, I hope. in the meantime, I used photobucket to do a slideshow that highlights my work thus far. It's also linked in my banner. Hope you guys like it. "Medusamaid" (I should really name her) is in there, too. I love her. I showed her to a girl I have a crush on, and she expressed a desire for me to paint her the same way. Good God. :drool

Well, I'm back from my acting gig, so it's time to get back to work. I'll have new work to show off soon, I hope. But in the meantime, I'm in the middle of a move to Brooklyn! As such, I have to pack up most of my commissions-in-progress for the move (sorry for the delay, guys), and I'm also selling off a lot of my collection to make the move easier and to pay for the simple costs of moving. So, here's some links for y'all, with new stuff forthcoming on this thread, which I have now officially dusted off. :lol

THE BIG SALE THREAD (non-custom stuff)

Knight of Ni, signed by Oluf W. Hartvigson

CUSTOM Phantom of the Opera Webber Musical Figures

CUSTOM ROTJ Ghost of Anakin Skywalker (classic version)

MIKEY! great to see you back man. im looking to FINALLY send out the mir brothers! lol life has sidetracked me abit and i apologize for the wait. i know youre ready to roll on these bros! :banana

Well, JUST as I get back from my gig playing Lancelot in Camelot, I land another gig playing George Washington during the French-Indian War! That's going to be weird for me, but I'm really looking forward to doing a straight play again, as opposed to another musical. So, it looks like I'm going to be slightly absent for a while longer (until October).

I have finished ALL my commissions (YAY!!), and will be sending them out this week. Pics of some of the really cool stuff are forthcoming, including the amazing Christian Bale sculpt Andy did! That was such a pleasure to paint, let me tell you!!

I'm still accepting commissions, and they will be completed promptly on my return. I may even be able to finish some of the new ones before I leave, if they're sent in very soon.

So, I'll still be checking in occasionally while I'm off being all colonial, so don't count me out completely!!! I still have so much I want to share with y'all. I love that my acting career is picking up, but I'm missing everyone here, and the smell of my acrylic sealer.

I am inspired to repaint my Washington figure at the next opportunity. I'd like to move him onto an HT body, too, but some things will have to wait, I guess.

By the way, my move to Brooklyn was super-smooth, and I LOVE my new home. I feel such an energy of creativity, that painting feels practically effortless, and some of these latest commissions are some of my best work. Maybe it's because my roomie is a professional artist. It's inspiring to see him out there with his easel and brushes every day.

So, there will be MORE TO COME!!!!

those eyes on bale are killer! but one thing that is kill'n me is the hair.. its a bit light.

medicom sculpts are usually really really good.. it's the basic paint that hurts the production figures.

I originally had the hair darker, but upon re-watching the film, I saw that Bale's hair is actually pretty light. He's sandy brown, like me.
