Yeah, so our theories are right so far. (Mine has kind of been debunked though.) I still think the guy in the mask is Jay as well though. Did not expect that 'our' Jay was going to get killed.

The real Jay is definitely under that mask. E1 Jay/Hunter is Zoom. Question is who is the person that Barry and the others were interacting with?

So you think the guy in the park (E1 Hunter) is the Zoom that we currently see running around? "Jay" had mentioned that Hunter's cells were "normal" I thought. (If memory serves correct. Could be wrong though.) I guess that doesn't mean much though because I don't trust "Jay."

A lot of people thought it was Henry so I'm glad it keeps everyone guessing. We're just so limited with who's appeared on the show so there's only a small number of possibilities, but now it ties in to E1's reveal of Hunter Zolomon being E1's "Jay" doppleganger. Whether or not he will eventually become Zoom, we don't know, just as we don't know if Caitlin would ever become Killer Frost. Loved her teasing Cisco at the end by the way... :lol :love

Interesting reveal, leaves a lot of plot points and appearances to be explained tho. I guess Zoom isn't really a speedster and instead moves through time, only way I can see it making any sense.

From an article on Yahoo.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Zoom is actually Earth-1's Hunter Zolomon, Jay's doppelganger from "Return of the Reverse-Flash."

So he wasn't "normal" like "Jay" said he was.....SOB....:lol

And now the question like SNIKT said, who was THAT "Jay" that we learned to know? Could it have been Jay (the real Jay) from a previous time - same Earth?

Where did you read this?

From an article on Yahoo.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Zoom is actually Earth-1's Hunter Zolomon, Jay's doppelganger from "Return of the Reverse-Flash."

Here's a few more chunks from the interview.

“Zoom’s identity has been revealed: He is Hunter Zolomon, a.k.a Jay Garrick. How all of that plays out and what’s actually happening, we’ll leave for after the break, but we wanted to go out on this run of episodes with a big reveal, just the same way we did at the end of episode 9 in season 1, where we revealed that Harrison Wells was the man in the yellow suit. Zoom’s identity is finally revealed.

“It’s an even larger betrayal than last year in some ways, because they’re all going to feel like they should’ve been inoculated against it. ‘Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.’…They let this person in. Part of the reason he was able to do that was because there was a hole in the center of their group, and he knew that. He was able to step in because they wanted it so desperately. Barry was missing his mentor, Wells, and here comes Jay offering to be his mentor. Caitlin had lost Ronnie, and then here comes Jay offering to be her new knight in shinning armor.”

Kreisberg also addressed the irony that the one character, Earth-2’s Harrison Wells, who said not to trust Garrick, was the one that the rest of the team didn’t trust.

“For us, there was all of this great, delicious irony to the whole thing. It happens in a way that didn’t make them look stupid, that the reason he was able to manipulate them was because he was playing on their emotions. It wasn’t because they were gullible. They actually took precautions in the beginning — Barry locked him up right away — but all of them had that need for a center and for a new star to right their ships by. Jay’s one charming, smooth guy and he was able to manipulate them in that way.”

He also offered a tease for the mysterious man in the mask locked up in Zoom’s lair, saying:

“The identity of the man in the [iron] mask is, in some ways, probably an even bigger surprise than this one, if you can imagine it. It’s a new mystery to pull you through the season. Barry swore he wasn’t going to leave him behind. Something tells me Barry’s going to make good on that promise.”

I think Zoom is the original Golden Age Flash from our time. Whether that is Hunter or not remains to be seen :lecture

The man in the iron mask is the key to finding out how Jay became Zoom, that's why they are keeping Iron masked guy around

My guess is that this is much like the Eobard taking form of Harrison Wells.

I feel Jay Garrick is the Golden Age Flash, who was probably taken by Zoom for his speed.

I keep thinking how it doesn't make sense seeing Zoom and Jay fighting when he explained where he came from but now a lot makes sense:

Zoom grabbing the lightning and throwing it back at Barry.

Jay saying he blames Wells for everything, especially the Velocity-6.

Jay saying Hunter Zolomon is the E1 counterpart.

The speed tranqs don't work because Zoom doesn't use the speed force. Likewise, how the Velocity-7 had worked on Jay only for a few seconds.

Wells says he created Zoom, some think personally; but with King Shark we know Well's PA had issues as well.

I think that was an absolutely phenomenal episode. Caitlin was a star! I really don't like Wally, but they surprised me by not showing Barry being Flash to Wally yet. Also I had to pause and take a breather during that E2 explanation at the West home.

The masked guy still leaves for questions. I can only assume that Hunter went to a different Earth to get him.

Still, I'm loving the ride, can't wait to see how this all plays together. I also don't like how Barry doesn't know about Felicity. You'd think he'd of done something.

I don't think the Jay under the iron mask is from another earth.

My current theory, and its very fitting of what the show has done so far via paradoxes:

E1 Jay = Zoom aka Hunter
E2 Jay = The "Real" Jay Garrick currently wearing the iron mask

The man who befriended Barry and the gang is E1 Jay from the past who in acquiring the Velocity-9 from Caitlin in an effort to stop Zoom (who he didn't know was his future self) unintentionally creates Zoom. Zoom's creation is a causality loop.

If Jay hadn't tried to stop Zoom by getting faster he never would have "disappeared" from E2 and then sought out E2 Wells under his new guise to seek more speed. Zoom can't exist without Jay becoming addicted to the speed force, which Velocity-9 served as a gateway drug for. Ironically he only takes it to stop Zoom.

The stuff that kept being referenced in the last episode, about whether or not E1 Caitlin could become Killer Frost, really laid the groundwork for the idea that someone as noble and seemingly good as the Jay we've gotten to know this season can eventually become a monster like Zoom.

This is similar to the Adam Warlock and The Magus storyline from Marvel.

Yea interesting that Zoom is Jay. I don't think Iron Mask guy is a Jay though.

Maybe Diggles white brother?

I started watching this show through the CW website. They only have the last 5 episodes available, but I watched episode 11 and 12. I really like this show! Flash is my second favorite DC character (although, I'm a Wally West guy), and I'm happy!

It's much a better experience watching it on Hulu's website but you have to wait 8 days for the next episode. I binged watched the first season on Netflix during the summer and then watched all the seasons of Arrow.

Thanks! I want to check it out!

Wally West has been a **** so far. Anakin Skywalker is prolly his read dad.

I'm a big Wally West fan, so that's disheartening. Oh, well. I still have my comics for my Wally. Wait...actually I don't. I have my New Teen Titans, but I'm going to search on ebay and buy them if I want to read them again.:lol

Just caught up last night. I really enjoyed the E2 episodes. I thought it might be possible Jay was Zoom after all that with the guy in the mask, but it was still a cool reveal. Wally has taken Iris's spot of most hated character on this show. I fast-forward through all his scenes.
