Yeah, this was a really good season opener. I think Flashpoint version of Iris was even better than Earth2 Iris.

I wonder if this season is going to be a lot of Barry time traveling trying to figure out what went wrong, fixing it, something new and different gets screwed up, etc. I'd be interested in that.

During the episode I kept wondering why they had chosen that actor to be the police captain in the flashpoint time line and it just hit me that he was on the original Flash tv show. :lol

Nah Clown, if you think about what Barry went through as a kid then it would have been pretty pathetic of Joe to let himself sink to that low of a point. Raising Barry probably gave him an outlook on life that kept Joe from becoming that hardened, worn down by life detective because the kid had it far worse than he did.

So I don’t think I quite understand…

The reason Barry wanted to reset the timeline again is because he was forgetting the old timeline? And would he lose the speed powers, because that wasn’t clear. All Thawn said was that Barry would eventually forget he was Flash, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’d lose his powers, does it? But let’s say worst case scenario was that he loses his powers and loses his memories of the original timeline, and the new timeline is “cemented” like Thawn said—so what? Isn’t having his parents back what Barry wanted all along? I mean, maybe if Iris was dead in this timeline, or maybe his parents end up dead anyway, I can understand him wanting to reset everything again. But he only wants to reset because he wants to keep his old memories and keep his powers, and he’s willing to kill his mother for it?

Otherwise I enjoyed the episode. Loved Cisco and Caitlin (“You know, you would be a great candidate for Lasik”) Curious as to what they will do for the rest of the season, trying to set everything straight again.

He seemed very weak by the end of the episode. Maybe he was dying?

Wally wasn't healing from his mortal wound and Barry was losing his powers which meant there would be no one left to protect the city(or the world). Plus Joe was an alcoholic.

I like in your example that Joe being an alcoholic is worse than the world ending haha

That's interesting, but they really didn't say anything like that outright. They just said he'd lose his memory and implied that he would lose his powers.

He had a BTTF/Butterfly Effect tonic going on. And of course, you never trust a villain.

That is very true. I almost hope it's something like that--that Thawn was pulling something over on Barry.

Wally just wasn't "speed" healing. He could have made a full recovery for all we know. They should have just killed him to really give Barry reason to reset time. As far as Joe being an alcoholic, they were starting to show new Barry having a positive effect on Joe.

I bigger question to me was
How did Joe manage shoot a speedster in the back? Didn't Flash catch a bullet behind his head in an episode?

As for Wally, I guess he should've died so it would've been clearer why Barry needed to change things back but it made sense to me.
