Are you working on a multi-scale display or just displaying the scales separately? If you are doing either, you're right, scale should not be an issue for you. But if it isn't then you won't mind having everything in the same scale either.

.

:) Of course I prefer my statues are in the same scale, that's why I am sticking with the PFs for the X-Men, but not because I prefer the scale or the format (In fact I think I prefer Comiquettes), but I just don't like the Colossus or Nightcrawler enough to collect them in 1/5

...what I am trying too say is that I can't pretend that the Colossus comiquette to be in the same scale as Gambit PF!!!:lol They are two different lines! and the only thing we can do is to wait for the Colossus PF (as well as all of the rest in that Jim Lee pic ;))

The real problem is, characters like Colossus, Nightcrawler, Gambit, and Wolverine belong in the same group in the first place, but they chose to release them in two different lines of X-men and split the roster right down in the middle, with different scale no less. You say you don't care enough for Colossus and Nightcrawler to be bothered by this, well that's just your person preference. What if half of your favorite X-men are in 1:4 premium format, and the other half in 1:5 comiquette? And some of your favorites may not get both versions, so you're screwed then. Do you like Iceman? You know Sideshow will never release a 1:4 Iceman PF right? And since the X-men comiquette is in 1:5 scale, that means you will never have a 1:4 Iceman to go with your collection, what do you think about that?

:lol OMG I must speak very bad English!

1) Colossus/Nightcrawler and Gambit/Wolverine don't belong to the same line. The former being comiquettes and the latter PFs.

2) I did NOT say I didn't care for those characters...maybe you could re-read my post. I said that I don't like the designs they chose for the comiquettes...so I would wait for the PFs (I think I have mentioned the Colossus PF several times)

3) Eventually, most Marvel characters will be made both in 1/5 and 1/4. You can take characters such as Emma Frost, Elektra, Mystique, Rogue, She-Hulk, Iron-Man, Hulk, Punisher etc...as examples.

4) As for the most problematic characters to be represented in PF scale, just look at the IronMan Comiquette (the one with the flag) or the Silver Surfer, they ARE in 1/4, so who knows...

...anyways Iceman IS a character I couldn't care less about

I rephrased my post, I meant they belong in the same group. Releasing one group (X-men) into two different lines splits the roster right in the middle, which is what this issue with scale is all about. You end up having half the roster in a different scale as the other half. You're also assuming there will be both a PF and a comiquette version of every single character they release, but that is not guaranteed! Eventually you will come across one of the characters you really want that may not be released in the line you collect. You don't have a scale issue now because this haven't happened to you yet..

That is still a personal preference. What if you prefer the design of a future comiquette over the PF version? you'll be stuck paying $250+ getting the version you less preferred all because you're stuck in one line and can't mix and match cuz they are in different scale. Some poeple like to think outside the box and mix and match their favorite version of the character, a great example is the new Iron man Maquette which looks great next to any Marvel PF. Getting stuck in one line is boring... I would hate to pass on an awesome piece that should have belonged in the same collection all because it gets released in a supposedly different line and gets made into a different scale..

3) Eventually, most Marvel characters will be made both in 1/5 and 1/4. You can take characters such as Emma Frost, Elektra, Mystique, Rogue, She-Hulk, Iron-Man, Hulk, Punisher etc...as examples.

You're right that most characters will have both versions, but there will be some that only get one version, and it only takes one example to make this whole scale thing a real issue. You better hope all your favorites gets released in your line or you'll be joining the club :wink1:

4) As for the most problematic characters to be represented in PF scale, just look at the IronMan Comiquette (the one with the flag). It IS in 1/4, so who knows...

From what I can gather from your posts, sounds to me like you're really only a fan of the main cast, and you'll be satisfied with sticking to one line only (X-men PF). So you'll be ok since it's pretty much guarantee there will be 1:4 PF Cyclops, Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, etc.. This is more of an issue for people who want to expand more and would like other supporting characters and even obscure characters, which may not get released in both scale. Honestly you should still be able to acknowledge this as a problem even though it might not personally have an affect on you...

And I just want to add that some people may also collect more than one line, say, Avengers PF(1:4) and X-men comiquette(1:5). Even though they are two separate lines, your collection will look better if they were in the same scale. As it is now, you can't really display those two lines in the same proximity because the scale is so close yet slightly off, it will just look too awkward. Think of how all Hot Toys are in 1:6 scale, and you can display the different Hot Toys lines in the same cabinet in different shelves, and they will all still look nice and neat all in the same scale. There would be a problem if Arnold is smaller than the Bruce Lee on the next shelf, even though they are from different lines and arguably can be different scale, it just doesn't please the eyes if the scale is slightly off.

Again, I repeat I understand why you want every piece released in just one scale...but as you say, it is just a question of preference, and it would be impossible to please everybody's taste...some prefer classic versions, some modern, some comiquettes, some Pfs, some one scale, one pose, one expression, one hairstyle...:lol so I think the best option is to buy the pieces you really really like and not upset yourself for anything else

BTW I've just received my Gambit PF!!! BYEEE

That's ultimately what I'm worried about.

If they withold certain characters for the comiquette line (Iceman, Nightcrawler) and never make them or delay making them in PF form just to get people to collect the 1/5 line to have a complete set of X-men.

Or maybe just not make a Colossus/Nightcrawler since the com didn't sell well enough.

I would also love to mix and match my display so comiquettes being 1/4, 1/5 and in between while PFs are 1/4 messes that up. An the fabric on the PFs also makes them harder to custom to the right costume. Just less flexibility due to scale.

Why do I feel like I will collect both the 1/4 and 1/5 scale lines? Is that crazy? I think both lines will have different costumes which would make this somewhat enjoyable. The comiquettes seem to be the modern versions so far and the PF's the Jim lee version. Makes me wonder if the Hughes Rogue and Brooks Psylocke are considered part of the 1/5 line.

we are ready for cyclops Sideshow!!!:rock:rock:rock

I just can't wait for the Magneto PF, once I get that, then maybe I'll even start collecting all the X-Men PFs.
