Have you read comics in the 1960's!... there CLASSIC... and CLASSIC = great for where they originated, but not story. Sorry. Clairmont and Bryne put the X-men on the map.

Comics in the 60-70 you do know the process was to DRAW the pics in first along with empty word bubbles, and the writer would go in and fill in the blanks like a kids coloring book on the fly! Yes boys and girls that's what they did. I mean in avengers number #1 loki falls thru a trap door that just suddenly appears!. and ant man save's the day!.

Out of all of Jim Lee's X-Men designs, Storm's shoulderpads were a bit goofy, but it was better than her 70's costume.

The year that comic came out my mom bought me a signed Jim Lee X-Men pin and a Hallmark Keepsake black & white set of the different covers that I still have. The pin is pretty cool, here is a picture of it that I stole off eBay:
