Maybe it's just me, but while perusing my local Toys'r'Us today, I saw a "The Legacy Collection" action figure of D'Al'Gargan. I remember watching Return of the Jedi (original release) and damn near choking on my soda when they showed her via one of the most "WTF was that?!" moments I've ever had watching a movie. Does anybody really want this figure?!

I dunno. I understand the Rancor Keeper, but this? I'm a completest and all but I passed on her. I just don't see the reasoning behind her when there're definitely more interesting aliens in the sagas they can make. Then again, there may be several 6-****ie chubby chasers out there to justify a market for her...

This looks a lot like my brother's first wife.

I passed on this figure as well. It might be cool if you had a Jabba set up or something

She had 2 seconds of screen time in ROTJ...

Of COURSE they made a figure of her! :D

I was thinking about this character just the other day. She actually makes a lot of sense in the context of Jabba's palace. Of course someone like Jabba would like someone with a little meat on her bones! I'm surprised he liked Oola and Leia as much as he did.

I got this figure. Pretty much, unless it's horribly done, I'll buy anything Hasbro does from Jabba's palace, it's my absolutely favorite locale and segment in all of Star Wars. There's some nostalgia in this figure for me, I remember being young and seeing her in the movie and finding it odd she had 3 sets of ****ies.

Perhaps she's WHY Jabba enslaved the prettier girls. If I had to look at Gargan all day, I'd probably do the same. Better to enslave a pretty girl to oogle over than start finding "good personality" excuses to lower your standards, right?

The reason this figure was demanded for years was because she was 75% done in the vintage line. The prototypes exist and she nearly came out so for vintage update collectors (like me) this was one that needed to be done and it's about time.

Who's been demanding her for years? Everyone I've talked to would've preferred an updated Gammorian Guard or a non-sterroided Lando "as bounty hunter," or even an updated Jabba.

Nikto (mislabeled as Klatuu in the vintage line), Bossk and Boba have all been made. I'm also pretty certain that the dude to Boba's left has also been made. But what about the asian dude in the back?! I'd rather have an action figure of him more than Gargan, and he had about as much screen time as Gargan did!

I've seen a lot of people clamoring for her, and I was very glad she's finally been made. I'd like Hasbro to do every single character from Jabba's palace, so quit yer bellyachin'. At least she's not Yet Another Anakin....

BTW, they already did a "non-steroided" skiff guard Lando back in 2004, so anyone that badly wants one hasn't been paying attention very closely. ;D

Man, that is reaching, even for a star wars fan.

The EU prolly can't even come up with a reason. Well, prolly, but it would really really suck and the fanboys would be all over it.

Hey now! I have wanted this character all my life! Hahahaha!

No, seriously. She's just so weird and nasty... you got this hot Twi'lek dancing around and here comes this wart faced chub. She makes total sense when you look at the rest of Jabbas' pals and hangers-on. Go to where your local scum and villainy hang out, and it won't be pretty.

I followed this campaign for years...like 2 or 3 at least. And I can tell you there were not "a lot" of people clamoring for her. There were very few who were very vocal and had friends who could put the campaign on the front page of a couple of huge fan websites. One of which is constantly in bed with Hasbro (usually to the benefit of collectors, admittedly).

If my memory serves, the last time I checked the petition for her there were like 2,000 signatures...and it took like 2 or 3 of the whining years to get those.

I bought the figure because I am a thorough completist. But I think the character is too disgusting even for Jabba's palace.

So I guess that makes you a six-****ie chubby chaser?

P.S. Did you pick up that Lando? That Lando had cut elbows and no knee joints and the overall sculpt sucked just as bad as the vintage release. So nya! I was paying attention, just didn't like the statuesque posing of what should've been a highly posable action figure like their Saga series.

actualy, there IS a Eu explanation, and beleive it or not, it does make sense.
Her species are like Camels. Their bodies Hold water in dry environments so they can survive long distances in areas where there is not alot of water, simular to a camels hump. To quote her from the novel in which this is explaned She looks "alot Different" in those enviornments. I beleive this is why she and Dengar Live on a jungle world. :lol

( Yes, she becomes Dengar's wife. After Jabba dies Dengar Goes back and loots jabba's palace. He finds her doing the same, and they kinda hook up. On their way out, Dengar stops to pay his respects to Fett at the Great pit of Carcoon, which is when they find him allmost dead there)

However, Evilface, I get the impression that the rather scientific explantion would still not satisfy you as
1) it wasn't in the films, so it's inherently terrible
and
2) you're over the age you were when you saw the films so it can't possibly be good :lol

Just poking fun mate. YOu're allowed your opinion, just as I am. But come on, you've got to admit that it atleast makes sense. ( the water-holding, not the Dengar marriage part)
