As much as I don't care for Craig in the role, I am still getting a Sideshow fig of him, just so I can have a complete set of all of the Bonds. The same goes for Lazenby. He was a terrible Bond, yet I will eventually try to get him.

I actually agree with that idea.
Now, not so much for the books of course, and not for the first seven films, even though Lazenby was in there...maybe you could still apply that...but, I think for them it was supposed to be one guy...
Actually at the end of the pre-title teaser Lazenby does look at the camera and say, "This never happened to the other guy." Which really makes the idea you and Abstract have put forward all the much better. At first I had a problem with the way they were doing this Bond. Dench as M and making this his first mission yet set in the modern day...it broke the continuity that granted was strained to begin with. If they do it this way I'm all over it. If not...oh well so long as its a good one.

I'll have to actually see the movie and how I like Craig as Bond before I'd want a figure of him. I'm really curious to see how he'll play Bond because I don't think he can get away with the dashing ladies man portrayal, the guy's got a face that would stop a clock.

In my previous post I mentioned Lazenby's pre-title quip, but I forgot before he leaves MI-6 he goes through a drawer and pulls out a sheathed dagger while "Underneath the Mango Tree" (from Dr. No) plays and also the watch that Red Grant used to strangle people. There's a third item, but I can't remember what it was. Still I like this different person same name idea best.

Also, remember how revenge-driven Bond was toward Blofeld in Diamonds Are Forever because of Tracy's death in OHMSS?? Her death was during Lazenby's turn, but Diamonds was Connery again. That torpedoes the "different person, same name" theory right there.

Still, I do love that idea. :)

Not necessarily Sith Lord. What if, and all this is a what if thing anyway right? :D ...what if Connery had "retired" after You Only Live Twice" and the big and somewhat final job of "getting" Blofeld (It's all out of order anyway, as he meets Blofeld again in OHMSS....crazy!...), but, what if the next Bond, upon taking the new job, goes, meets Tracy, loses her and leaves service not being motivated to return again after the Switzerland experience and his loss.
So, Connery comes back for one last turn to, once and for all, "get Blofeld" and revenge for his replacement, something the Connery Bond would gladly do....
Then he leaves and his new replacement, Roger Moore is in.
As for Moore at Tracey's grave in For Your Eyes Only, he could be paying respects to the other guy's loss as it represents what any of them could go through, and he claims it as his own loss from time to time.

It kind of works dramatically. Sorta. Kinda. If you just shoehorn it in somehow.:D Gotta try something to make it all work. It's like a crazy game. If you can make it work that is.

I do think it would be cool in the new movie if they committed to that.

Well, it's no worse than trying to shoehorn in all those inconsistencies George Lucas hit us with in the Prequels!! :lol

:lol YES! Exactly. :lol So there. So be it. :D

And Carbo-fation, I'm there with you totally! Nice lineup from what I have seen. Very nice!

If Bond is meant to be just a title, I'd like to see Sean Connery come back either as M or a bad guy (who would succeed in actually killing a Bond in a film). It has always been obvious that Q and M were being replaced but the title staying.

Another point for Bond being just one guy is that 006, and some other 00's (I think 008 or 009) get killed in other films like Goldeneye and Octo*****. They never seem to get replaced though. But if Bond was one guy, why had Q and M aged and he really hasn't and technology has improved too. Moneypenny seemed to age in reverse though :lol

Speaking of Goldeneye, did anyone ever play that new "Goldeneye" were you were a new badguy called "Goldeneye" and worked for Goldfinger to take out Dr. No? I thought that was a good game which connected a lot of Bad guys (which wouldn't fit in with the films, but the films don't always fit either). I think Goldeneye could be a good film villain. He could be played by the guy that played Krycek on the X-Files (Nick Lea I think).
