Lots of dark characters here, who could provide a nice seedy counterpoint to the other kinds of heroics in the Marvel Universe. I think you skip the individual character films, put them into a Defenders/team of necessity situation, and you could bring in some serious cash if it was done right. These are potentially very interesting characters.

Lots of the Darker, and some supernatural characters in there...

There is talk of Del Toro doing a "justice league dark" movie with the supernatural aspects of the Dc universe...

Why not marvel do something similar.

Ghost Rider and Dr. Strange could work well together.

Hell, we could even see some more

"grown up" marvel films. R rated Punisher, ghost rider and daredevil?

Have to wait and see what fruit this new tree yields.

Wish they'd get Spiderman back. I want to see him in an Avengers film.

:goodpost::lecture:exactly:

If EVER a character NEEDS to go back, it's Spidey. The Films-by-accountants version of spiderman, that essentialy just ripped off nolan batman the whole time was..... not good.

Pending what happens in the next few years, X-men could and probobly SHOULD come back too.

I'm guessing the DC thing is more appealing to some (like Del Toro) because Alan Moore tackled a lot of that in the past. And of course, anything he does is brilliant, so filmmakers want to put it on the screen. As a result, we've seen several movies based on his franchises, even though they fail more often than they succeed in this medium.

Spidey, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men are all as important as the Avengers. It does suck that we probably won't ever see them together.

so that means those characters will be locked away for a long time? until this whole avengers Marvel thing ends?

I hope not. As much as I love the Avengers movies I never gave them a second glance when I was into comic reading. I'd much rather prefer we get reboots on some of the other licenses.

Marvel = Disney

Disney has more money than God

IF they think there is money in making movies with any of those characters ( and I think there is, if it's done well) Then disney will front the cash to hire people to make it happen.

Yes because when I think "The Punisher" I think Disney. :lol

Why not just drop Frank into the Incredibles 2. :lol

Yep, will pobably be a long time from now

Err the Spider-Man movies were made Before Nolan's Batman. He is perfectly placed with Sony, no Booberella Widow or SHIELD people dragging down his movies :yess:.

Actually more important, thats why they got movies first :wink1:

Honestly I don't see this as good news at all. If they really don't even give these a glance until Phase 3 is over it could be 15 years before we get a new Punisher or Daredevil movie. And what if they keep going and do Avengers 4 and Iron Man 4,5 and 6.

I'm not terribly excited about the prospect of being 42 years old before I see Frank on screen again.

They should just screw the origin movies and bring back Snipes, Affleck and Cage for cameos in AVENGERS 2.

Ditto. If Spidey, Xmen and FF wet back to Marvel it would be a disaster. He best we could hope for is for studios to work together.

Well that's good logic. . .and considering that we saw Punisher in 1989, I suppose he's more important than Spidey.

Yes because when I think "The Punisher" I think Disney. :lol
Well Miramax is a Disney company. Being owned by Disney doesn't mean something has to be treated as if it's a G-rated cartoon. I think they've got enough business sense to realize that they could capitalize on some Marvel franchises by targeting older kids and adults. And Punisher can succeed without being a "hard R," even though I'm sure some would cringe at the thought. He can still be a bad-***, stone cold killer without the film showing much of the gore for example. We saw hints of this in some of the other Marvel films, such as Avengers when Hawkeye and others are killing off the security guys.

That's a good point, but it is what it is, which is in Marvel's hands. At this point, I'm just hoping that they will do something with it, and my inner geek drools at the prospect of cross-over films. But chances are these characters won't get their due anytime soon if at all.

Considering that Marvel has so much to deal with now, I suspect that some kind of multi-character film is much more likely than, say, a stand alone Punisher or Ghost Rider.

^ Precisely why some are better off elsewhere, we get more detailed movies about the heroes and more importantly their supporting characters and villians, which can't be featured in a team-up movie.

They don't have to have them cross over. They could just give them stand alone films.

Goes against their 100% history of crossing everything over.

Let's say they make a Daredevil movie, should he be involved with Thor & SHIELD? Does it make sense for that individual character?

Dare Devil, Punisher, Ghost Rider, these are mainly vigilantes who don't often do teams so this should really be a differant set of movies from what Marvels already doing. Darker and more adult themed as others have said. Like the equivilant to the MAX comics. They could do DD and Punisher solos than a crossover with the two of them easily though. Ghost Rider would make more sense with someone like Dr. Strange, but then those crossovers should never become entangled or involved with Avengers short of a mention of damage from an alien attack or talking about Iron Man's actions in the next Punisher or something like that.
