Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thank YOU Venny, for being so nice and for having the guts to go for it. Art lives within us all, and our personalities come out in our work as we progress in skill. The Anakin you have on your shelf is a small piece of me, something that helped me to oust inner demons.

In your work, you will find therapy, joy and mental exercise. It's really an experience quite it's own, especially once you delve into 100% creative, non portrait work.

I am very excited to see you going down this path and cannot wait to see where it takes you. Welcome aboard Venny. :duff

Thank you for welcoming me aboard.. I won't let you down... next up is Solid Snake, and I will master Lord Vader. Expect big things from me. I will tackle anything that I find interest now.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Awesome job Great1!! Yeah, the color is just right...looks fantastic. The pinstripes on the pants will be problematic, but I might just use a ruler and freehand them or something... hard to strip color from an existing pinstripe suit and then dye it purple without losing the stripes.

But it is coming along, just waiting on suit sets...

For now... check out the LINE O JOKERS. :D

Looks sweet! But I only count 11 heads, where is #12?

And the more I see your Joker, the more I actually just like the outfit he is in now. Kinda like Batman's protosuit, he hasn't quite fine-tuned his likes to his suit yet. The photoshopped image shows though you have all of the right pieces just waiting to be dyed. When (if) you do the pinstriping, I'd be interesting in knowing how to do it for mine as well.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks for the compliments on the photoshop image guys! I had some spare time and just couldn't wait to see the results on Josh's Joker.

I didn't do the pinstripes on purpose because it would have been a little on the ticky side to get them to look natural since there is so many waves in the pants.

Nice to see you will be attempting the pinstripes Josh, will you also be doing the hexagon pattern on his shirt?

Here's something I found kinda interesting,

Notice how in the picture on the right you can see that he is also wearing some sort of jacket under the trench coat. Another detail you can see is the chain attached to his pants.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks for the shots guys! Man, I wish I could line the coat like that shot.. :monkey2

Yeah, Great1... he is wearing a full suit underneath that coat, and is wearing what looks like a pocketwatch or something. Should be fun to see what happens on that front.

if you want a chain like that you should check out the vampire spike figure from sideshow. he has that gold chain necklace thing. its a pretty good size chain so you could get it to hang like that. if you just want the chain check out https://toyanxiety.com/template.jsp?page=Search&search_keyword=spike it's at the bottom of the page.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

wont the figure look a little too puffy if a regular suit is used underneath the longcoat? i think a vest is all thats needed underneath the longcoat.. should help keep the figure skinny looking.

Exactly what I intend to do... I will keep it sans inner jacket when posed with the coat, like mine is now... And when I take the coat off, put the jacket in it's place. A regular houdini act. :lol

It just looks waaaay too poofy with both.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, let me know if you recieved the payment. im fickle with using paypal lol.

Oh yeah bro, I have it in hand.. Just got done ordering the rest of the clothing. On suits alone, for the 3 figures I am doing so far... the price for parts alone was about $250 total! :google

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

All unpainted sculpts are in the mail! Should arrive some time next week to those who got the unpainted Joker heads. :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Any updates on the commissions coming this w/e Bro?

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

So mine is on its way to Les then right?

Yep! And Paul, work is still coming along... That damn Yoda is giving me HELL. I am going to tackle it hard tomorrow. I really have yours and a few others that have GOT to be finished tomorrow before I start going into full on Joker mode. Last week I couldn't get anything done.

I sat down last weekend and just stared at the work. Couldn't produce a thing. It was insane. But I guess my muse was not with me. This weekend, I'm hoping she will pay me a visit so I can get this done. :monkey3

Don't sweat the Yoda Bro! Please! If its giving you hell. Maybe weather the outfit, do the cane. I like the sculpt, just the paint apps seemed light/faded in color and I wanted the eyes to pop better. Maybe drybrush a few layers on it to get the color toned correctly and just repaint the eyes. :D Easy peasy.

And remember some sweat on Luke. Btw, I love what you did with my Luke. I also want to use him for eventual Vader battle poses but I think that look will also be ideal. He was still innocent then too. Not yet a Jedi.

Cool Paul. I actually just finally got the skin tone on Yoda done, and I am very happy with the results. So he will be done today! And I can add the sweat to Luke for sure, since I have yet to do any gloss on the eyes yet. And I can finish this set TODAY! :rock

Woo-Hoo! :woo

Take some pics Bro! It will be the definitive and ONLY 1:6 Custom DA Dagobah Luke. And it will kick unparalleled ass as a Besbin Luke too!

Yeah, baby!

PS: I stole some nice pebbles from the new Loft Building across the street (garden bed) so I'm ready to rock! :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I'm gonna take some outdoor shots tomorrow, just finished it an hour ago. So it should be pretty cool in the end. :rock
