Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

That kitbash looks way cool Josh! Nice Job.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks Les! Yeah, it was one of those very fun, quick customs... just to get my brain rejuvenated. I'm really happy with him, especially since it is all from crap parts that I would never have used on anything. :lol

Here are a few more pics.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Wow dude, that looks awesome! The gun is just the icing on a really fun and imposing looking character :rock

Can't wait to see what other new stuff you rock out for us :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks a bunch everyone, this guy was right up my alley. I love evil characters. They are so much more fun than the normal good guy. :lol

I can't wait to make one that is actually designed and thought out, something truly original and not just a repainted existing head. :devil

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, did you give it the hair or did the head already have it? It's quite impressive, looks natural and real, not exaggerated and toy-like as a lot of 1/6 fake hair comes off.

No, it was haired already. David Merrill from DID. I had one left over and didn't want to just make another SWAT Sam out of him, so I used it here. :lol

But the hair is decent enough, I just painted it black and drybrushed some red and white in there for accent.

And his crazy sword was an odd, yet fun piece. Made from a Tripod that came with the CSM from SSC, legs ripped off. I glued a McFarlane Jason Machete blade to the end and cut up a Buffy Hungamunga axe for the other blades. :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh awesome work man! Hey! Make us a Lou Ferrigno sculpt from that one, I see Lou in there man!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

That thing is crazy good! Without doubt, it's a piece of art. "DarkArtist" indeed! :rock

I really like the way the lighting effects his face in this shot (looks very comic book like)

Awesome job on this one Josh, especially after reading he was made with junk fodder (you never cease to amaze us all)........

Thanks man! That's really what kind of look I wanted for him. Very over the top, comic book inspired. If I was a photoshop wizard, I would have taken some shots and converted them into that high contrast comic style.

Yeah, junk parts with Josh all of a sudden become a masterpiece. Go figure(no pun intended..... ok, maybe a little).

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks Zack, I appreciate it bro. You always make me laugh, especially after 60 shots of Cider. :lol

Ok, well... tonight was eventful. I got a bit further on a Galvatron model that is giving me Hell and a little bit further on the Wesley heads. But what was really the showstopper tonight was the completion of a custom for my personal collection. Something I have been working on for at least a year now. I'm very happy to present... my custom Rorschach.

Awesome job Josh! I love the first picture.

Parts breakdown by any chance?:D
What head did you use? Did you just sculpt over a head to make it smooth?

These are the reasons I am so excited about the road you are taking with your talents.

It is amazing how your imagination comes to life !

Awesome work and a look into the future for fans of the one and only Dark Artist !

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks a lot guys, it was a loooong road to get him done... That's for sure.

Here are the parts. Dragon body, gloved Officer's hands. Sideshow dress shoes, Cigarette Smoking Man's trench coat, Freddy Krueger's hat, Dragon suit and scarf, head sculpt was Rudolf Mertens, just sculpted over with Super Sculpey and sanded smooth.
