Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Awesome job as usual Josh. I can't wait to see your finished Wesley heads.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks Anzik!

Today was Hell. I've been having huge problems with a guy lately. He paid me to make a set of zombies for him, he paid a few months ago and I started working on the stuff he sent. Later he decided to back out of the deal and requested his money back. I contacted him and asked for his PP address, he emailed me back a week later, angry. He said that I had not contacted him...

I responded again, saying that had already emailed him asking for the addy. I told him that I was sending him the money, and that I didn't appreciate him wasting my time on this commission.

I sent him back $40 of the $50 he paid, stating that I was charging a cancellation fee to reimburse me on the time lost as well as shipping for the items I had gotten for the commission.

He got pissed off and threatened legal action, saying that I was being unfair and not treating him right.

I'm at a loss, am I really wrong here? :banghead

That totally sucks! Sorry to hear about this.....I don't see anything wrong or unfair with you keeping $10 to cover your out of pocket expenses and wasted time. That's just good business sense.....^^^^ him...I can't believe he would threaten legal action for $10......I mean really it's going to cost him a lot more than that to take you to court. I wouldn't worry about...guy is just being a f'n ******.....and if he keeps bothering you, let me know and I"ll whip out my Kurgan sword.....GB will join me and will make it a true Kurgan celebration. :D

Dude that sucks, but in no way do I think you're in the wrong. It's not like he bought something off eBay from you and changed his mind, he comissioned work and you are entitled to some ammount for the work done, particularly if the reason of them backing out is simply not wanting it anymore and has nothing to do with opinion of the quality of your work. You were paid to do a job, made investments on your end to get it done and he stiffed you, 20% for your troubles isn't asking much to me, especially when you're probably still taking a good loss with that.

However, knowing the troubles you've gone through, it might make it easier on your life to just throw him the remainder of the money. In my opinion, avoiding extra aggrivation and possible legal action is well worth the few bucks remaining.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

It was bound to happen eventually. That's the price you pay for dealing with the ^^^^heads of the internet.

imo, you did better than I would have in giving most of the guy's money back even after you started work.

I wouldn't be too concerned about some guy who backed out of a $50 deal threatening legal action over a matter of $10. :lol

It sounds as though you may have some serious legal troubles. I am not a lawyer, but I am willing to represent you in the case of Douchy McDoucherton vs. DarkArtist pro bono and assure you this man will never see that 10 dollars.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I don't think you are in the wrong, but it might be a good idea for future dealings to have a standard disclaimer (in case you don't already) up front stating that customs will be done when they are done and that if a person backs out there is a cancellation fee.

You might already have this, but it would save you any future headaches from douchebags.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I think you guys are right. I need to make that sort of disclaimer. It's starting to get really annoying. THIS is why I have stopped doing repaints. I just can't handle all of the "Are my heads done yet" PM's and emails. It just gets a little upsetting after a while.

I really do try to get stuff done as fast as I can, it's just hard after a long time to keep pushing it. I hate it. :monkey4

I'll just give the bastard back his lousy $10. God, I wish he didn't live so far away, I'd come and shove those figures up his ***. :devil

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

The thing was, I really tried to reason with him. I told him that I had commissions that my FRIENDS were waiting on, people I actually KNOW. Those good friends are waiting, have been for MONTHS. I told him that I'm doing my best to get caught up on that workload and also trying to help him out by doing his stuff alongside it.

Still couldn't wait. He cancelled after only one month. And he wanted resculpted zombies, something that took 2 weeks to get shipped to me and another week or two sculpting. Insane...

Guy pretended like he was the only one I do custom work for. :google

My offer still stands. And for a very small fee I would be glad to email him a fart. My recommendation is to tell him to get bent. Don't give him ****. I get so tired of people getting their way just because they are obnoxious. F-him.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Yeah, screw him... I'm not dealing with it anymore.

Anyway, here are the daylight pics of 805...

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Those daylight pics really show off your work Da. Much better version of 805. Awesome!

And I wouldn't give that guy his $10 back, but it's up to you. You might not want to deal with his ^^^^^ing anymore. At the end of the day it's only $10. I can't imagine that this guy thought customs are made so quickly? Sheesh. Some sort of disclaimer or notification of how long the project will take before you get paid might deal with some of this nonsense.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Yeah, just tell him to pick a spot on your ass and kiss it. What a ******.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Yeah, I just will have to stipulate each time I do an "Off of SSF" deal... that it cannot be promised within a set time and that if cancelled... will incur a fee. :duh

And Josh, Obi is actually coming along. Put a coat on his hair today. Trying to get my mind off this A-Hole and get deep into painting. :lol

Also, today I revised a bit of my site and made a "Store" page... I will be offering many more items in the future, for now it is a start. Some will be cheap, some expensive. Not all will be custom items, might even sell junk parts and misc crap. :D

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I would. We here know how these go so we know you guys work hard and want to make sure they come out perfect. Perfection takes time and sometimes ^^^^^^^s outside this board just don't get that.

Cool! Just wanted to check and see. No rush as I haven't even bought a body for him yet. :lol Thanks again Josh for working on this and Indy when I get to send him to you.

I think there is a difference between this and someone asking nicely if their heads are done yet. Some people just like to check to make sure they didn't get lost in the shuffle. I hope you really don't get upset when people are just looking for a update.
