Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I'm amazed you can get details like the roots of hair along the hairline in something that small.

Thanks man, I was actually surprised that I was able to get those small details in there. It was tough, but a fun challenge. I've never painted that scale before.

I just sat down a minute ago, almost finished with the first Myers head, almost finished with 2 more Joker heads and am going to take a little break.

I wanted to update everyone on my work schedule for the next few days. Will probably be a bit quiet here on the DA front. Tonight I work from 6-1am and tomorrow from 1-6pm. And then the next day from 1-6pm again. So, I know for sure that during those days my painting is going to fall to the wayside a bit. But I will be trying to squeeze in a few hours of painting here or there and will be painting like crazy Wed and Thurs when I am off. I am going to be mailing stuff off as well, as soon as I get my stimulus money.

Just wanted to keep you all updated. :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

The funny thing is, that the sculpt isn't all that bad. Once painted and on the shelf, looks like a tiny Heath. Especially from the front. From the sides it gets lost a bit, due to the jawline and the neck joint. But as a stationary little figure, it's pretty impressive for that scale.

Agree with you there Josh, take a step back and look at him front on and the likeness is pretty good, I can just picture him walking down the street with the machine gun like the trailer. It's only really when you look at between front on and profile view does Heath get lost and mostly the Jay Leno jaw is the factor, but front on and profile are really nice. Can't beat that they can do this now with small action figures. I think that's why I still buy some figures like this, it's nice to see now the type of figures we dreamt of as kids, look at 80's Star Wars figures compared to the super articulated ones of today :google Glad they arrived safe and sound, be curious to see how you paint your own Joker.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Man, those two Jokers look like day and night. Mattel should hire you.. or whoever makes those figures. Like I know or care! I just find it neat what an awesome paint application does for a figure.

Mattel's is actually quite nice for a $10 figure that's as much for kids to buy as adults. I'm sure they'd step it up a notch if it were a $20+ figure geared towards adult collectors. That's the fun of it though, if you repaint and aren't happy, it's only $10 and it's fairly easy to replace.

Edited moments later...

No response out of Maulfan. Heh, I sure showed him! Yeah, that's right! Move along! Nothing to see!

Well my photos sure as ^^^^ won't compete with that :lol That's creepy on multiple levels because it partly reminds me of the opening of Halloween: Resurrection which while having the only plus of featuring Michael more and a brief stint with JLC, probably one of the weaker entries in the series. Was thinking about it earlier, Halloween movies need Dr. Loomis, he became the perfect character to follow the story with and ended up being a saving grace for part 4-6, which would really have been weak if not for him, and given that both actors who've played the role have impressed me, it's not just about the actor.

Sorry, there's my Halloween fandom spilling out again haha, look great though Josh. I assume that's the Sideshow jumpsuit Blake's Michael is wearing?

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

:lol I know what you mean! Loomis is too cool a character. I keep scouring for a head that remotely resembles him so I can make a figure, we NEED a Loomis.

These pics make me smile a bit, very funny scene.. Michael making a new mask. :D

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

The second shot almost looks like he's taking himself hostage.

"I'll cut his throat, I swear I'll do it, don't mess with me man!" :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

He has very good eyesight so apparently there is at least one guy out there that listened to his mother.

That is some funny ^^^^, I have it on my iPod for work every day lately along with RAW.

"A bear and a rabbit are taking a ^^^^ in the woods near each other. The bear looks at the rabbit and asks him "do you have a problem with ^^^^ sticking to your fur?" The rabbit says "no" and the bear proceeds to wipe his ass with the rabbit." :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks a lot everyone, I can't wait to have a long row of Myers on my shelf... all going out to good friends. :rock

As I am in a comparison mood today, thought I would share another cool comparison. The MM Joker figure, pre paint and after paint. Pretty funny what paint alone can do.
