Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

That Michael is WONDERFUL! And, if you won't laugh, I love how you did his shoes! Almost perfect weathering and wear. The jumpsuit looks immaculate and that head is sublime. A damn near perfect custom. Bravo Josh! When you work in the area of your extreme interest and knowledge like this one, your work is second to none! Top rate custom! Can't wait to see what one draws on Ebay, as this one must be a steal for the guys here. This is a seriously cool figure. Spot on!
It doesn't look like a 1/6 figure. It looks 1/1 scale. That is amazing!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I can't get over the staining on the jumpsuit, it's perfect and looks so real world and used :google

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I did send out Blake's Myers and Joker though. :D

WOO-HOOOO!!!! The Myers Artist Proof!!!! I can not WAIT to see it. The Joker too!!! This may be the most excited I have ever been to get a figure in the mail.

I can't believe I am getting the one & only DarkArtist Artist Proof Myers. I'm glad I sent it to you to get customized...look what has come of it! Further proof that you are the master, and now a lot of happy people with DA Myers figures on the board.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Actually, some thanks should got to you too Blake, your request has spawned good fortune for the rest of the Michael Myers fandom on this board too, so thanks for getting the ball rolling dude :duff

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks for the props, but all I did was supply the match. he lit the bonfire of awesome.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Hey, inspiration is the foundation of all art, without it, work would be lackluster or not even exist.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

In that case, I am incredibly happy to inspire!

Thank you for providing that match! It might not have ever happened again, even if it was itching at the inside of my skull... waiting to get out. You deserve a lot of credit for helping me to make this happen. Now to have this first figure completed and soon to ship out to Sean... And more to come... It's pretty sweet. :banana

More to come soon. Tonight I am going to try and hammer out some of my non group commission stuff, to catch up. Hopefully finish a few more heads and get them ready to ship out as well. :D

Thanks a lot man, I worked for at least an hour on that jumpsuit alone. I did a few washes here and there with black, grey and brown to get that greasy... filthy look that only mechanics can seem to get on their work clothes. That coupled with the sanding, really sold the wear and tear. :rock

Well it paid off, and I'm sure glad you went the 15 rounds with that one. One of the big reasons the color of the suit is so hard to pin in the movie is all the grime on it. Worn in looking costuming and all really helps to sell it as more than just a figurine. I shall call him, Mini Michael.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

that is insane!!!! seriously, better than a Hot Toys offering! If I was just a big Halloween fan....

Thanks man, it means a lot to know I had a tiny bit to do with this. Myers, as with all of your work, is amazing. I might have to watch halloween again tonight to celebrate. The only thing to decide is which Anchor Bay DVD to use...the double-disk with a slightly more orange hue, or on of the other three that they released...:lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

That DVD comment made me think of something.

Josh, have you seen the extended edition of Halloween with the clips added from the TV cut that were shot during H2? If so, what's your thought. I kinda like some of the parts they put in, like Loomis addressing the hospital about keeping Michael locked up. "He's waiting." "For what?" "I don't know." Man was Donald Pleasance a great actor, to deliver such a compelling character in a low budget indy movie really speaks to his skill and committment to the job.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I agree, I dug the scene with Loomis talking to the board, but that was really it. I didn't really dig the rest. The extra scenes of Laurie, I believe, are shot with a towel around here head because her hair looked a lot different.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I love watching the first 2 Halloween flicks, it really reminds me of being a young teenager. I would have to say some of my greatest memories as a young teen was watching movies like Halloween. Michael Myers will always be mysterious and creepy boogeyman!

Yeah, I love that hospital scene. Donald made those scenes much more than TV filler. And it was a nice tease of the kinds of great lines he was going to have in Halloween 2. The bit where he is screaming that he shot him.... 6 TIMES... classic. :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I'm scared of that motherf'er! :horror

You took Michael right off the screen and shrunk him down to 1/6 scale. Great work, man. :bow
