Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I used co-run Moviemaniacs.net and I can tell you that Mcfarlane did not have the license to scream. The figure is based on a store bought unlicensed version of the costume. The first wave did include a mini scream poster but when Dimension films got wind of it they issued and cease and desist order.

Mcfarlane was forced to replace the poster with a generic photo of the figure.

Really? That is interesting. I think it is funny they issued a Cease and Desist on the posters though and not the actual figure :lol

That would explain things. I always thought it strange the Halloween figure had that poster, but the Scream figure didn't.

Dimension has no copyright on the costume. I'm not quite sure how that works but I believe the costume was something they found in a shop somewhere. They do of course have copyrights on their posters.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Well, I did a lot of work tonight... Was not able to do much this weekend, unfortunately... due to family out of town visitors that sapped my time away.. :banghead

But I did get some stuff done, at least progress on a number of different projects and heads. Here is what I got done....

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, is your Ghost Face actually going to work like the film costume, where it's a white mask attached to a black cloth over the person's head?

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

arrgggghhhh !!!!!!!!!!! GHOST FACE !!!!!!!!ARRGHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!! MEGA AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!! :rock:rock:rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I also finished a "quickie" head... I had this old Mace Windu sculpt laying around and wanted to do something with it, so I added hair to it and made a Jules from Pulp Fiction. I just slapped it on that body really quick before making a mold of it, just to show you guys. Even the paint is sloppy, just a quick base coat and hair color to show what it will look like. If anybody does want a cast or a painted cast, just let me know. They will certainly be available. Even full figures if desired.

No, I was thinking that at first.. but it would be really really tough for me to accomplish and make work. The cloth will be there, hood with the full body cloak and the draping arms... Might even do some wire work in it, for a nicer effect.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

holy crap !. How do you make all this awesome stuff in such little time ??!! :rock
Everything rocks ! :rock

Well, I am so buried under my work that I needed something to "recharge" my batteries a bit... So I did the Ghostface and Jules to get it going again. I think it worked! I was able to get a bunch done along with it, and I'm already pumped to finish those up and do the other Myers/Jokers/Roys that I have piled up. :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Dang those look good. :rock I just love that Bale/Wayne sculpt. I should have gotten one of those when I had the chance.

Well, I'm sure whatever you come up with will work out, just got my gears turning when I saw the mask free floating there, I started thinking what if that got glued to a hood like comes with Takara Batman.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Awesome. All I know is that if you sell the Ghost Face figures I am buying one.
I am actually building up that many different horror characters I have barely any room left !. I am thinking of picking one Jason and one Freddy and selling the rest.
It will be hard but theres not much I can do. Its what actually stopped me from ordering both of your awesome Jasons.

My cousin who says all this collecting is stupid yesterday said as I was looking at your Myers , and I quote " Now thats cool ".
He never says anything like that !. :lol:rock

That sounds like an awesome idea. This will be a tough one to tackle I would imagine. I would be worried about the mask weighing down or coming off if its simply glued on to fabric. Maybe I'm being paranoid.
Either way I know Josh will make this awesome :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I see a Rorscach! :rock Maybe a Joker is in there too.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Obi-Wan looks great. That Pulp Fiction head looks freaking cool as well. Nice Job josh. :)

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks a lot guys! Yeah... LOTS of work here. Sean, you are on to something there. I might do a cast and try that on a hood somewhere.. see if it's feasible at all. I worry about it possibly coming off with wear, but it might be able to work. I'll give it a good test. :rock

And Obsolete... Yours is NEXT! :D

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Whoohoo! One of the first Rorschachs. The Jules looks great - judging from the recast on eBay, your sculpted hair is much much better.

Sweet ! The things you invent ... to re-invent yourself ! WOW !
