Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh did you get my PM?

Sorry Josh, I did... Just been insanely busy over here. But I should have pics of Obi Wan here soon, I keep getting close and not satisfied... redo it, and start the process all over again. But something should be coming soon.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Cool! No problem at all. Just doing a check in. :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Took a break from commissions today, after finishing another Myers and Roy late last night... I needed a "me" break. So when I got my Obi today, I used him to lift my creative spirits. It WORKED. I'm rearing to go now...

Check him out.. these are bad shots, they don't show all of the armor detail.. but I still wanted to share. :D

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

badass weathering to that armor DA !!! made a great figure even better...:rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Phenomenal... you really took what was already a kickass figure and turned it up to 11!

Love the weathering, I'm fine with him coming clean. But as always you're ability to weather is unmatched!

So how was this compared to working on a Medicom clone?

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Great job on Obi Josh. I have a feeling he will look a bit out of place once the Clones start shipping. He doesn't have a bit of weathering (except maybe the belt) and will look like an angel or something compaired to the dirty clothes. Definately looks better, like he as seen some action, which of course he did. :clap

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks guys. I just love bringing real wear and tear to characters who fight on the ground. Jedi are usually so clean and pristine, so I wanted to bring out some more of a tough element with Obi. To show that he fought right in there with the troops, shrapnel flying, robe burning. :rock

And Joe, the armor was EASIER to paint than the Medi. Thanks to it being solid and not soft, it took paint better and I could do more degrees of damage. I will even be going back to the hardcore areas and dremeling a bit to get some pitted blast marks and such. I love it, 100% better for customization than Medicom.

Great image King! I think I need to make that into a signature :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Hey Josh, when you sell your Obi let me know :)

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I just realized that I never did show you guys my reworked Hulk PF. I further destroyed the pants and repainted the eyes to look a bit less crosseyed.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Wow, DarkArtist. Your Obi Wan repaint, especially because of the "crystal clear" eyes, the lips better blending with the skin tone and most importantly, the eyebrows, improved him dramatically. The likeness looks perfect!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks a million, guys! It was a surprisingly easy repaint. And since the skin tones were there, made my job a million times easier.

I hope Sideshow starts doing this with all of their stuff, it will make repainters lives MUCH easier. :rock
