Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

:lol It worked really well! Especially with John having that Hobo roll. :rock

And sorry I missed your call a few days ago bro, I will give a ring back here sometime this week.

No worries, it's been a hectic past few weeks, this week is finally back to normal. My only breathing time was when I called held up on the Mass pike driving home, apparently Mass Highway Dept. thinks cutting down a 3 lane highway to 1 within 2 miles span during the early evening is a smart idea :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

And for those patiently waiting for your Michael figures, I want to show you why you're waiting and why it's worth it. Josh spares no time or effort on the details in this figure.

A.jpg

I can't believe how realistically he dirtied and wore out the heels of the jumpsuit, it's crazy at this scale.

B.jpg

Here you can see some of the weathering, both at a fabric level and at a coloring level, of the jumpsuit, just fantastic, very real-world, used looking, adds great authenticity and realism to it.

C.jpg

More weathering on the leg and some amazing mud and dirt work on the top side of the boots.

D.jpg

And not like most folks will ever see it, but he takes the time to properly wear out the bottoms of the boots too, just because it's realistic.

F.jpg

And lastly, the blood work on the hands and knife, first rate.

I understand the eagerness some of you may be feeling for this figure, but hopefully I've been able to alleviate that a bit showing you just how worth the waiting is.

:drool:drool:drool:drool

That's just pure love put into a figure there. The tattering on the back of the pants legs and the mud on the bottom of the shoes is just insane detail.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

You hit the nail on the head, my buddy Roy bought the head by itself. :duff

Yes true, although it looks awesome I kinda wished i'd opted for the entire figure. Oh by the way Josh the hair IMO is the best part of your work, bravo!

Sean, please switch back to Mulder, I can't stand seeing John J. take such B.S. again! :lol LEAVE RAMBO ATTA THIS! :D

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

MaulFan those photos are amazing! Great to see all of the little details Josh is putting into those. It really is the little things that make a custom shine. Sure anyone can put a Michael Myers head into a jumpsuit and call it good *cough* Sideshow *cough*, but not Josh. I think one someone is a true fan of something, not only will they nail the big details, but they will get the little ones in there too. Amazing. :drool

I really need to get some cash together one of these days and get one!

PS I love that Myers took off Rambo's head with a knife :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Man, just makes the anticipation that much stronger! Finally a kickass Myers :rock

That's why I jumped at ordering Josh's back when all he had was Blake's head for casting. Josh and I have had many a talk back and forth on Halloween and Michael Myers, and we both saw eye to eye on him and had the same enthusiasm for the character so I knew what I'd be getting in a figure made by him. Now I get to look at the figure and enjoy having an awesome piece from a good friend and can admire the hard work of a passionate fan.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

BADASS! I WILL be getting more of these done here in the coming days, them AND Roys. I am desperate to get them done for Halloween. :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Killer job on the weathering, Josh. I especially like the back of the pants legs by the boots, very realistic effect!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

The weathering is just amazing. :rock

Josh.... your figures rock. :D

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh the weathering on the mask looks perfect, all around great looking piece!

Great work bro!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks man! It was a very obscure Jason figure to do, but looks pretty badass in the lineup. The mask was the thing I had the most clear shots of, and even though many mask makers tend to do the mask as if it weren't muddy or wet.... I wanted to replicate that look it had in the movie.

The clothes were tricky. I have seen some shots that show them badly damaged and such, but in the film you don't really see that. It just comes off as soaked clothing that looked like he was JUST buried. So I sanded it a good bit, put a few wear holes in it and sprayed the Hell out of it.

I have just always loved the look of this mask, it is the only one that has the straps attached UNDER the mask itself and not on top of it.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

That is a cool looking Jason bro... really unique and he does have a wet nasty look to him :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

You know what you should do and what I think would look amazing? Replace the body with a larger one, something almost even twice the thickness, I think it would look awesome. It seems his clothes look tight on him in the movies, I would try this, pants and shirt!

I took my T2 T-800 big boy SS body and used it for my Myers custom (your sculpt) and it looks better, more beefed up. Just a suggestion, imo both Myers and Jason should look larger even if its not movie accurate.

Picture a Jason sculpt and mask on a Drago rubber body!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Oh man, do I ever wish... That would be badass, not to mention optimal.

The only problem is that there is no readily available Big body out there. HT is closer, but it's too pricey. My customs would raise up to $200 a pop if I used them. All of the bodies I have seen, or that are available to get anywhere are just normal size.

I actually have to cheat a bit with my figures, using sweaters underneath shirts and such to bulk them up. Some company just needs to put out big bodies, for customizers like myself. We need them, especially for figures like these.

Oh totally but even just for fun, just to see what it would look like and not necessarily for sale. I would have tried it but the SS heads aren't compatible with the HT's rubber bodies.
