Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Man DA, 2009 is a trip for all parties ! DAMN !!!!!!

Well dude I hope you can lose yourself in the true loves of your life, your wife and your work and don't let it bring you down.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I'm used to my family acting crazy, but to hear all that was a bit much.

I kinda know how you feel man. I'd rather not get into details, but I've been down that road many times.

In my case, I eventually cut most of my ties to my family. They were hurting my sanity, they were hurting my marriage, they were eating away at my life. When my son was born, I tried to make it work, I explained what their behavior was doing to me and what it could eventually do to my son, and nothing changed. If anything, it got worse. I had to make the hard decision to exclude them from most of my life for the sake of my son.

Dysfunction is easy to explain to a child when it involves fictional characters. But when it's family, it's a lot harder.

I hope things turn around for you and your family.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks guys, and Kabuki... sorry to hear that your family is as messed up as mine. Sometimes it makes me sad to think of how far they have fallen in such a short time. The best time in my life was while I was in the Navy and far far away from them all.

Today I got even more news, my younger brother (the one with the two kids that stabbed each other with needles) and his Wife stole from my sister a few months ago and pawned off her computer and all of her DVD's and CD's.

I'm about to that point where I just want to cut them all out of my life and get the Hell out of FL so they can't have any influence over me or my future children. I was the only one who actually had a plan out of all of my brothers and sisters, the only one to finish high school or go to college, and now the only one to not suffer an addiction, not be homeless or have a bunch of kids I didn't plan for.

And just being somewhat normal makes me the worst one to them, they don't like me because I cast too strong a contrast on their craziness. :banghead

Bro, Like I said, live your own life. Distance at this point is not a bad thing. I did it... and I had to ... my son and family are more than worth it.

Envelope yourself in your home... your wife and passion for this art we are into... if that becomes your addiction... there is no wrong and you will always be the better for it.

And we as your fans, and friends will always be here to support you.

Well you mentioned it once, if you end up looking at New England for a relocation, we'll rock it out :rock

I'm a firm believer, even if you've got a stable family, you have to make the choices best for you and damn everyone else because they can all go any time, you'll always have yourself and if you don't set things up right for yourself, when the others are gone you're left without more than people.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Stay Strong, Bro!

Sounds like you've done all you can do and you're at the point where all you're getting back are negatives. So shed a tear, and then cut 'em out and cut 'em out strong. You are the captain of your own life and there are times when you have to make and unfortunate but necessary decision to move the ship off to keep from taking on more damage as much as you may want to stay in the fight.

Your family and your (future) kids don't deserve the added burden. Life is filled with enough challenges to go around without hitching yourself up to the problems of others - especially when said others don't seem capable of benefiting from your goodwill.

I know, easy for me to say because its not my family, but I think we've all been here before to varying degrees. Bottom line: do what you gotta do for YOUR family and let the chips fall where they may.

Man, when I visit some family, I feel the exact same way. Have you seen the show Arrested Development before? If not, you should check it out. Probably something you could relate to. Plus, one of the funniest TV shows ever made :)

That's a healthy reaction to an unhealthy situation. If there's a voice in your head telling you that the best thing for you and your wife and kids-to-be is to get to some distance and create an atmosphere free of that sort of behavior, I think that's a good voice to be listening to.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

josh, man, i am really sorry to read all that. wow. when it rains it pours. i'm lucky in that i don't have these problems with my family. and i would say family is important and try and stick by them, but dyamn! if they're that destructive, maybe there really is nothing you can do for them. i think whatever you end up doing will be the right thing, because you have that strength of character.

on another note, perhaps your pc still isn't working because you're sleep-baby-making at your desk? any strange residues on your keyboard when you wake up of a morn?

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

That bloody Casino Royale Bond is still the coolest Daniel Craig custom I've seen to date. If you sold that thing I hope you got a mint for it.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Alright, many of you (most of you?) will be ecstatic to hear that this is the end of the line for my DarkArtist Custom Han shots. Variety is the spice of life and I can hear you screaming "enough already!" when yet another ANH Han from QGF hits this thread. I'm just so proud of him I just can't seem to shut it down...

And there's also this. I don't think I'm capable with my novice photographic skills to do any better than this. Here he is one last time. I've put all the elements together that I have in my pocession (Da Han/Koto Chewy/piece of black construction paper!). Unless I get something new to pose him with down the line, I'll spare you any more solo shots (pun intended). Here you go:

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I don't blame you for posting lots of pics. I'd be proud of that sucker too.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Great shots QGF, as always! Never gets old here bro, no worries! :rock

And guys, sorry for the lack of updates. This weekend has been a complete bust in every sense of the word. Lots of family distractions and visits from unannounced friends. So I wasn't able to do much at all, just little things here and there. Tonight I hope to get a bit done, and the shipments that have been awaited will be going out Monday.

I'm also in quite a financial pickle over here, so I will be selling some stuff to make ends meet. Possibly some of my Dead figures, and maybe more.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!
