Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

No problem Matt, Trevor did an amazing job on the sculpt... it was quite easy to paint after I started.. his work always is. :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Could the "non licky" Joker be mine? :monkey3

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I'm curious, what factors make one sculpt easier to paint than another?

Glad you asked that! Likeness always helps of course, less work for the artist. But the hair detail helps, as does the depth of the lines in the face and the overall finesse of the sculpture. The more it has, the easier it is to make work. When a sculptor goes the extra mile, it really makes my job simple and quick. A less detailed head is a nightmare to make work, like the HT version one Superman. That one is always hard to make look good.

Josh is still working to get his PC up and running.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

:lol Thanks guys, hilarious comments here. I am still struggling with the computer, dealing with a lot of "attempts" at making a baby...unlucky so far 2 months in a row... :(

And today I was hit with a LOAD of crazy news about my family.... My little brother is hooked on Cocaine and now homeless, my older brother is an addict and mooching off of an older woman for a place to stay, my other younger brother's kid (while they were at a cheap ass hotel for a few days....to explain..they too are homeless) stabbed his brother with a syringe they found in the garbage....they did blood tests, but who knows what the poor kid will develop in the future.

And to top off the dysfunction, my parents got kicked out of my step-Grandmother's place and are now trying to hit up the one semi normal brother I have left for a place to stay... :banghead

I'm used to my family acting crazy, but to hear all that was a bit much. It kept me away from my paint desk all day.

I'm still working though, and will be shipping a whole mess of stuff late in the week once my GI Bill money arrives. I also will be done with a lot of various stuff as well, trying to get even closer to being caught up... one head at a time.

Man Josh, I hope Les' terrible year didn't get passed on to you! What is this, the painter's curse or what?

I really wish both you and the rest of your family the best though.
