Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

sweetness Josh! Can't wait to see what you do with Freddy, and more importantly, own one in my collection!

the steampunk version is very interesting! from a head-on shot, he almost looks a bit werewolf-y... :)

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Next is the Han that everyone was asking about. It was a commissioned head, a Steampunk version of Han using Trev's famous sculpt. A lot of fun to work on.

Awesome Josh! Now I FINALLY know what it would have looked like if Harrison Ford played Wolverine in 1977! :lol

Seriously, cool, cool work man. Love the Spock too! Glad you have your mojo back. :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Cool updates man... that Steampunk is interesting, hopefully we get to see the final figure.

Great work on Spock as well, really nailed that paint job :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks guys! I am very interested to see the full figure as well. It should be up at Red Planet some time in the future, once he gets the head back and completes it. I'll be sure to look out for it when that happens and share pics.

And Spock was a fun re-awakening. I did that in an hour, and it just really helped put the fire in my veins again. I was having a hard time getting anything out, my brain just was not allowing me to do any work at all. But I got the Spock head in and it just got me going again.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

FANTASTIC work Josh!!!!! Freddy is an instant improvement and Spock looks just sick. You are amazing bro.

Hey you should post a before and after of Freddy, i'd love to see that.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

awesome work man. :rock:rock
Spock is brilliant. :rock That Freddy has a huge improvement over the origianl paint job too.
SOMEBODY BUY IT !!. :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Bravo Josh!!!

Next is a very quick and dirty paint up of a Spock sculpt I got recently. I needed a little creativity boost, and this really helped get me charged up and painting heads again... which I desperately needed. It turned out very nice, and didn't take me long. Especially since it is mine and I can be as sloppy as I want to be on my own work.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks guys, the clothes on him are the temp clothes. I will still probably dye the shirt light blue and put a little insignia on it. Maybe make him a ghetto tricorder, just to be able to display him until I can get a proper uniform.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Well, not that it means much with all the acolades, but great job on Spock Josh. The shirt as is reminds me of the away team uniform from Star Trek the motion picture.

Is it just me, or does the portrait seem like it would work well for Motion Picture or Wrath of Khan Spock more than the show, he seems older and more refined than younger TV series Spock.

I thought you were going with the "Where No Man Has Gone Before" look with the way it looks in your pics.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Great work Josh. Your stuff looks awesome.

Do you have an estimate on my four heads? My Bale kitbash could really use the Andy B. sculpt.:)

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Sorry about the continued delay bro, I hope to be able to get to it soon. They all have the basic tones on them, they just need the detail work. Right now I am trying to tackle at least 2 a day from here on in...

On the art front, here is my temp Spock uniform. It's still drying, so forgive the darkness, the flash pics are more representative of what color it really is right now. I think it will lighten more as it fully dries. For the insignia, I used a glittery star to make it. I cut out the shape I needed and drew the science logo on it as well as a black border. It really came out pretty nice in the end. I also made the rank markings with glittery glue, ghetto I know.. but a cheap and easy way to make it work.

It was a quick and dirty custom, but got me fired up again. So now on to the WORK!
