Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Great work Josh... glad to see you are back in the saddle :rock

I knew you'd rock out on Conan, the blood is particularly awesome looking :rock But like I said in the other thread we need some green people soup on the stairs :lecture

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Excellent job with Conan Josh!!!

Blood looks 100x better!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks guys. Yeah, those perfect cherry red splotches were NOT going to do. Something had to be done. And the black of the markings were just not sharp enough for my taste.

So after watching the scene in question a few times, I dove into this. The blood was a lot of fun, I did a variety of techniques, layering, water drips, etc. It didn't take long either, since it was just a minor thing.

I'll take some daylight shots today, so you guys can see it as it REALLY is. It's like an entirely different PF from the one that came out of the box yesterday. :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

night and day is not a strong enough contrast between those two pics!!!

also, i don't know how, but Conan seems to have a more determined expression on his face now. looks absolutely badass.

did you do anything to the hands? what about the blade itself? also, is his hair shiny or matte?

can't wait for daylight pics!

Thanks man! I'm very proud of it, I think it came out great. And the expression came from fixing the eyes, as well as using weathering powders to shade the face a bit. Not to mention repainting the markings, that helped the intensity of it.

The hands, I weathered more and added different blood. And the blade and sword got the same kind of attention. The hair, since the base was a bit shiny... the highlights are matte and the dark areas are shiny looking. So now it looks like some of his hair is wet with sweat, which works out nicely.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

thank you kind sir! there is a good reason why we are on page 717 in this thread.

just a gorgeous piece.

when you take daylight pics, closeups of the hands, face, chest and blade please!

i have the Conan theme in my head now. :rock :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Better pics! Pardon my camera though...Thing didn't want to give me too clear a pic, that wasn't overlit. I'll keep trying to snag a good one of the face though...

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

amazing!!!!!! the blood is perfect.

for the face, my only comment is with the lips. hard to tell because of the sun washout, but are they painted a light pink, or are they white?

thanks for the pics Josh.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Damn Josh, ordinarily I salute your skills, but that is the worst looking Terminator I've ever seen anyone post.
