One more time - to all fanboys with a childish look at the life.
I purchased a LOT of stuff from artist's here:
1) From Jack aka Xenoviper - tons of stuff - there was a few delays (1-4 weeks) - the cause was, of course, some tough life-calls (not sure how to spell it correct in english) - I was a good listener & just waited. He NEVER ignored me. I'm still purchasing from Xeno & I'm HAPPY with his skills & talent. He is my favoutite artist here & he is a Terminator fan
2) From Zuno - NO delays.
3) From Serang - purchased full custom figure 1,5-2 months delay because of a wife & his twins Of course I was a good listener again & I'm happy with overall service.
4) From Jon aka Custom Workz - 3 full custom figures. NO delays at all.
5) From Rainman - full custom figure. There was about 1-1.5 months delay without any ignorance - just waited & really happy with a final result.
Everyone of them can tell you that I'm A+ customer - I'm always in 100% charge about my part of a deal 300$, 500$, 900$ - if I'm telling that I will pay in 1 day or 1 week - I WILL pay. I will get my ass tight, I will work 24x7, but I will follow MY WORD.
Because I know that artist could already have a special plans for money that I promised to him.
He maybe get his wife to doctor, he maybe promised his child a Disneyland trip or smth. And I won't let him down.
I WILL work 24x7 even if I will be dying. I WILL NEVER CRY about this on a public thread & tell artist that I'm ill or will simply ignore him.
One more time - I maybe still kept waiting without any worries, but after ignorance & 6 months of "Hey man!!! It's almost ready! You will get it next week! I promise!" everytime - I just want a TRULY answer - WHEN my figures will be ready.
That's all.

Boy...do I feel bad now.

I dropped Josh a chase PM yesterday on a couple of the sale items I bought a while ago. I wouldn't have sent it had I read this thread.

Dudes, chill out.

One of the greatest figures in my collection is my Mustafar Anakin that Josh took a CONSIDERABLE amount of time to finish. Was it worth it? HELL YES. Do I wish it could've taken less time? HELL YES.

But what are you going to do about it? Are you going to chain Josh to his desk or march him down to the post office at gun point? NO.

Just chill out and Josh will deliver...eventually.

It is infuriating, it is annoying, but you always have the option not to deal with Josh again and he really will deliver as soon as he can.

Josh has got a lot going on (as I'm sure have we all) but before you ^^^^^ any more ask yourself a question...,have YOU ever missed a deadline, purposefully avoided PM's, e-mails etc.? If you haven't then flame away and I'm sure that Josh will be motivated to do top notch work on your stuff

Otherwise, STFU.

Josh KNOWS he is behind, he WILL make it up.

On the other hand, we have also heard from Josh on several occasions that this is 'the last time' that he is ever going to fall this behind again and that he was using his sale to gather funds for materials and shipping and not much seem to materialise for the commission customers. Folks like Sined read this and get, understandably, wound up.

It would go a LONG way towards shutting up the haters if Josh came on, like Les and Darren did, and post a (tentative) time table for completion and shipping of folk's items.

Josh is NOT Howes but he has to face the fact that people HAVE given him their hard earned cash and received empty promises and that given the problems with Howes that people are more likely to jump on the slightest delay with a "OMG - Josh is Howseign me...".

So in conclusion....

Haters - STFU.

Josh - Mate, you NEED to address this before it spirals out of control.

I haven't done any business with Josh, but just following him on the boards over the years, I know he is a stand up guy. I think we all know that. For those who are waiting for their items, I think it can be safely assumed that he wants to complete these commissions just as badly as you want them done.

But the truth is, head painting is a lot of work and very time consuming to do a quality job. I'm not sure what he charges, but I think I saw prices on here a few times that looked like he is offering such great deals that he must be undercharging for his work. For all the time and effort it takes to complete a quality head repaint, he is most likely working below minimum wage.

He probably doesn't sign on here or reply to messages very often because he knows what needs to get done and would rather focus his energy getting it done rather than spend time here saying they aren't finished yet. So I think it is best that everyone gives Josh a break. I'm sure he has enough stress already from the constant cloud on his back knowing what is sitting at his desk, waiting to be finished, day after day.

Don't piss on Sined's corn flakes either abstractharmony. He has a reason to worry, be concerned, and perhaps, even to a degree, upset. Both Sined and Josh were locked into a verbal agreement. Am I waiting for stuff too? Yes I am, but I understand that Josh is going through his own personal hell right now. I can imagine he is extremely stressed. As an artist myself, I know how hard it can be productive at times when you are down and out. Some people thrive on stress when it comes to art. Art becomes a means in which creative types can alleviate themselves from the stress ... this is through the application process. Others, well, I can't get myself kick started when things are ^^^^y ducky. People like Sined may not realize this. Either way, even a photo update or some kind of response is what some people are looking for. That is probably Sined's biggest concern, is communication isn't there. I am sure he would spare Josh some more time if he had so much as an update or idea where Josh is at. It gives the guy insurance, and why not? Josh has something of his, and in return all he has is Josh's word he will get something. If anything, and being honest, I wished Josh was better with his communication. I been at fault at school for doing this. Instructors always tell us students, if a project is late, better to send an email in before hand asking for an extension or to let them know where you at, then to come to class with nothing completed, if anything at all. They express how it is important, key, and mature for those working with clients to keep on that stuff. This is what will make you or break you from doing future business with those clients, or other potential clients. Talk gets around fast, and people talk a lot.

Anyway, Sined loves Josh's work, or why else would he get stuff commissioned by the guy? Josh has come through before, I think right now we need to let bygones be bygones and move on since all this bickering is getting us no where.

Here's hoping for Josh to see some light and ^^^^ing have his cluster ^^^^ of problems wiped away clean, and we get our figures so we can proudly display them in our collections.

That is unfortunately part of the sealer. At the time (a few years ago now), the sealer Josh was using, even though it was stated as "matte", was a bit glossy. Josh has since found a better sealer that is actually matte.

On top of that, it looks a little less shiny in person than in the pic.

oh excellent. thanks for that dude. i prefer the matte look on my figs, unless they're supposed to be sweaty or rained on. as for supes, i don't think he ever sweats anything.

i love how josh captured that kind of supes intensity in the paint. the original HT paint makes him look like he's in a superhero catwalk show.

Agreed. I think the V2 suit with the V1 headculpt painted by Josh is the perfect Superman from Returns.

Wow....I get sick for 2 weeks and my thread spirals out of control.

Ok, first off. Sined. Dude, listen. I haven't emailed you back because my box is overflowing with similar messages and if I answer them all, I never get time to paint.

And my time estimates... I suck at that, I admit... which is why I don't like to give estimates. I don't honestly know when life will throw me a curveball and screw up my hastily laid plans. And also know that I have guys that are waiting MUCH longer than you that I also have to try to get their stuff done. AND on top of that, your figures were the first run of that particular one... and as such are very difficult to try and figure out production wise. Your figure is coming, SOON. I can't say exactly when. But soon. So please stop sending me a million emails a week. If you want them like they are now, I will send them. YOU can finish them.

That goes for anyone who wants their stuff back. I will send it all back if you want, as it is now. I will issue refunds as I can do them, slowly. But if you decide to do this I will also send whatever I have put together for said figure. This I swear.

As for my other customers, I will deliver... I always do. I hate that things have gotten so late but they have. My Wife had a seizure, set me back a month and a half. School set me back countless months, which I should have realized would happen. And now I was sick for 2 weeks and unable to paint.

I'm not Howes, I'm not screwing anyone over intentionally. I would send everything back right now if I could, I really would. I don't want to be this guy, I don't want to do this anymore. I can live with being the custom artist cautionary tale, that's fine with me. I just don't want to continue to screw over people I respect and even those I don't respect. It's not my way at all.

But Sined, if you want me to turn in my Mod badge, I will. You want me to quit? I will. I'll send you my blood and organs, I'll allow myself to be crucified... whatever it takes. I can't work faster than life allows. I'm sorry for trying to hurry for you on several occasions and failing, I should have just honestly told you that I would try but couldn't promise anything.

As for my friends, thanks for trying to keep things calm here... and I am sorry from the bottom of my heart for you having to do that... especially those who have waited over a year for my work. I'm the worst friend ever for doing that.

As for the work, I will continue to do whatever I can to keep at it... It's all I can do. But I'm done. I can't deal with this ^^^^ anymore, it's just not helping my sanity at all. I'll always stay an artist, but not like before. You guys don't deserve the wait times for responses and the work.

I'm definitely not fit for this work, I'm a poor businessman honestly. I used to use this thread for updates but I can't even do that anymore, I haven't even had time to post pics of Ror for Matt. I'm really bad at this, I can only hope that over time I can repair my rep and do what I can to get the work done.

But no more group commissions, it's been nothing but trouble for me. The full figure thing was a great move but it ruined everything for me. I screwed the pooch.

No need to lie, I e-mailed you 1 time a week. Never sent you big amount of e-mails or PM's.
But you are always ignoring.
No need to lie. I have all our e-mails saved.
One more time - I maybe still kept waiting if you told me just one thing - THE REAL date when my figures will be ready.
At the beginning - it was you that promised me "end of april" & I believed in your words.
Of course you don't even thinking about it, but the second Jason figure should be a surprise for one of my very best friend for his birthday.
That's why it was so important for me that you will keep your word.
I'm still need some more concrete info about when it will be ready.
I understand that you won't tell anything like "Next week!" now, just name me the month. At least +-2 months.
But again - you shouldn't ignore e-mails that peoples' sending you per 1-2 weeks if you don't want your thread to be like Howes thread.

I agree, he does need to look after No. 1. I am my number one, that is why I dropped the ex. She was effecting school ... the relationship was hurting how I functioned at school last semester. Barely got out of that semester alive.

Anyway, I think Josh and Sined should settle this off the forums. They don't need this kind of drama. Plus, we don't need to know all of this.

I agree.

Speaking of which, I should update my instructor at school. I have problems with updating as well. Not a good habit to get into. It sucks having to update people, especially when you aren't happy to have nothing to report. But even a reply is nice. I know my instructor would rather know I am down and out that's why things have not gotten further in the process, vs. ignoring him entirely. I have done it, and got into huge trouble. Another student came to class and said he didn't do the assignment because we weren't getting marked on it and he had projects that had higher priorities. Well, suffice to say, the instructor ate him out in front of class. Of course he did it in a mature fashion, but he said, a project, regardless of if it is worth marks or not should at least be attempted. There is a reason he gave it to us, to dust off any cobwebs we had over the long Summer.

You're loved here Josh and you have all our support, but small updates are always nice.

Get better bro. I am pulling for you. I am going through some rough times as well my friend.

P.S. Don't give up your modship. You haven't done anything horrible! If you must.. you can even update in here. This might make things easier. Screw PMs. They fill up easily. Just have people ask in here.
