Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate all of the support of my recent decision. I just think it's best for some of the deals where things are going to probably end up lasting another long bunch of months.

And yes, anyone who wants to post here with a request for what they would like me to do, I will do it. :duff

Any people who want to tough it out with me with their stuff, I can do it. I'm close on some things, which I will be focusing on these coming weeks. Like Prax... Your Indy heads are about finished, I just put the finishing touches on the skin and hat for the hat head and just need to do eyes and finish the no hat head.

As for selling my stuff, it's a necessary evil. I just need to do it to pay for everything, I'd rather sacrifice my stuff than put people on a long wait for money. It's the least I can do. I just took some pics of what I have, it's not much but I will list it soon. It's pretty much all I have left. :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks for all your updates and your efforts to make things right despite going through tough times.

i'll take the refund if you're not really close to finishing my orders (Indiana Jones, Mulder, and Scully repaints) to make things easier for you, just let me know.

I'll pay for shipping either way. Whatever works best for you.

Glad you have the option I wanted........... ofcourse I WILL tough it out!!!!! I love how you made your Jason figures and my Jason 8 is no exception. Just give me a shout out when it's done. But I ask for just 1 thing. Can you please post those old pics of each of the Jason figs you did, I can never get enough of them...:)

Thanks

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh - If you're up to it, then I'm in it for the long haul! When things are ready to ship, PM me and I'll shoot some shipping money your way. :rock

I hope when this is all over you reconsider staying. Before all this commission stuff you were such a positive force on this board and we'd love to have that back! Just don't sell any more commissions!

Whatever you choose, we wish you the best. :peace

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, like I said before, I'm willing to wait on my Ash, but I'm also willing to take what you've got (preferably if all the component pieces are there :) ) or a refund if you would prefer. Whatever is easiest for you. If something can ease your load a bit, let me know.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, I don't know if you got my PMs but I was wondering if you had anymore Michael Myers figures?

Thanks

Chris

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, I will know better what I would like to do in regards to the Joker fig if you could give me a realistic idea (even a few weeks give or take) of the timetable on finishing; or better yet a progress shot.

:wave

Thanks man, and I like to read how the tone in this thread has changed. :peace

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, I had a Ash figure without chainsaw and shotgun. I can wait for you to finish it if that's alright.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Okay then, what is the status of the Jack Torrence and the Joker Josh?

Thanks in advance! :)

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Well I'm definitely willing to wait it out. I know you will do a stellar job on the Maximus statue...but really it's up to you Josh. I imagine those pieces take up more time and if you just want to be done with it then I'll take it back as is.

:duff

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Jen decided that in the spirit of giving that you can send her Maximus statue to me. What a sweetheart!

:chew

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I'd like to know an eta on my stuff before I elect how to proceed. I have a Dream Jason, Jason 8, Roy and Loomis (Bought on horrorbid) on order. Let me know. Thanks!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Hey josh,

Just let me know what you need $$$ wise to ship my heads back to me - always happy to help out another Kurgan :)

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Very awesome of you Gecko!!

Actually there are quite a few people in this thread that are really going above what anyone would expect and that is what makes this board awesome. J - whenever the indy heads are done let me know and I'll PP you cash for shipping them and maximus back.

Just trying gauge expectations (not that I will hold you to the day of course), but with them nearing completion are we talking a month or less? two months??

Thanks again man!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, I'm really sorry to hear that this became so chaotic for you, but I'm really happy to see you standing up straight again. Always had a lot of respect for you as a person, as well as an artist. It sucks that your love has become a cause for pain, and I hope beyond hope that you not only don't leave the board, but also that you don't give up the art. You have a gift and they aren't to be treated lightly. Not that I think you do, but I think you would if you turned your back on her entirely. (The muse...she doesn't take scorn well. ;))

That said, I would really love it if you could tough out my Aayla Secura repaint. I know you don't do a lot of female figures (have you done any?), and you made a point about wanting to take a shot at her. I'm not particularly interested in looking for services elsewhere because, of all the customizers on the board, I prefer your style/technique/ability over the rest. I have infinite patience, and as I told you when this all first started getting to be too much for you, you don't charge enough. I also never intended to let you pay for return shipping, so if you can handle following through with my order, I will gladly pay the difference (what I thought you should have charged) up front (with no conditions) and then the total shipping cost when she's ready.

Just let me know. It's an honor to have been able to have enlisted your talent, but I will understand if it's just not in the stars.

Merry Christmas Josh. And smile. We (your friends) still think you rock. :santa

I know Josh did an awesome repaint of the Sideshow Dana Scully from the x-files lines... always wanted to get him to take a crack at one for me.

Thanks for posting Josh. I'm in the 'toughing it out' camp. I'm behind you all the way on it bro.

Still have my fingers crossed that I'll get a D.A. Christmas present to put under the tree this year...2 Anakin PF heads and a 1/6 battered Deckard head! :D

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I'm sorry to comment further, but I'm noticing something I'd like to point out without being too rude. There are a lot of people giving Josh the leeway to finish the work on his desk.

If 90% of the people don't care how long its taking, then this whole situation is one of two things:

1) Not as bad as it seems and very easily fixable. Simply find out who the 10% that are demanding their product and simply refund only them with an apology for not being able to do their work. Utilize the kindness and flexibility of the other 90% and their generocity to refund those complaining. The rest of the people can wait as long as it takes. This therefore clears some work of the table and quickens the pace for everyone else. And it also silences those demanding customers.

or

2)Josh's mind is burdened not only on the unfinished products belonging to those complaining but also to those supporting him and giving him the flexibility. In which case this is a bigger issue than just the few complaining.

Personally based on Josh's attitude over the past year or so I think its situation #2.

Now therefore (though I'm looking at it from outside the circle of friends) its kinda disturbing to me that the guy is pouring his soul out to you all, beating himself up, telling us how overwhelmed and burdened he his by the responsibility and so on, YET very few people actually seem willing to lighten that load for him by accepting their products back and structuring a means of repayment.

I know I come off rude and interloping, and for that I'm sorry. I just feel the right thing to do is to help get the situation resolved ASAP so Josh and everyone else can move on and I think that only happens when Josh looks at his desk and its clear of all these commissions.

as harsh as it sounds, i have to agree with this to some extent. i left it up to josh. but i certainly understand why people want him to finish. if this is josh's last foray into this hobby, people want a piece of that magic josh brought to this hobby. hell i do too. really badly. but josh's comments that the thought of repaints etc. are enough to send him into genuine panic attacks, i'm willing to forgo that desire to own some of his work. but i know deep down, josh doesn't want to let his peeps down either. so i gave him the choice. but i do believe it is down to each individual to choose what they want josh to do with their stuff.
