Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I think Josh is avoiding us, not to be an ass, because it stresses him out, and it's not needed right now. We're not going to get our stuff any quicker. People need to put themselves in the shoes of that person, and know how stressful it can be when you fall on hard times and fall back on work... period! I hate getting in touch with my instructor when I fall back behind. Granted I will make contact simply because I want to pass. But it has happened, and I am not proud of it.

But lets not bring down the guy, and say he is a Chris Howes. One person intended to screw people over, Josh didn't. He just got himself into a pickle. Would I like my stuff, absolutely, but name calling or calling him out isn't the right way to go about it. I am sure he lurks, and maybe not. Maybe even lurking would stress him. Trust me this guy doesn't sleep well at night. I know I don't when things aren't good.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I have waited over 1 1/2 year for his Ash figure. I bought it from him when he fell on hard times back then and thought I was doing him a solid. I also thought I was getting that figure, later did I find out he didn't even make it yet. And then through the year I see him buying new figures, pfs and repainting his stuff and not every one else's. It is like taking your car to a mechanic to get fixed and you pay him up front and he works on his car instead of yours. I have PMed him many times and no response. Then when he sells his stuff because he needs money I PM him about just sending me his dk figure and call it even, and again nothing. What recourse do I have? He has my money and I can't do anything about it. I understand he is going through a tough time but so are we all and because I felt for him, I paid for the Ash figure to "help him out" and now look over a year 1/2 later and nothing. That's what being nice gets you. :emperor

The same situation for me. I've been wating since
October. I tried to help him to resolve it.
1.Refund
2.Replace figure
He said my fugure will be done by the end of Jan.
with 100% guaranty.Well, still nothing.
In his last message(month ago): it's not far from completion. I have the parts, the body and the head is being painted.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Keep it together guys. I can see why you are all angry and frustrated over this but the bad vibes directed at D.A will only have a negative impact here. You're just going to have to see it out i think. Sorry

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

still waiting for about 5 repaints from late 2007 early 2008. i don't really expect to ever see them again. i'm currently trying to rebuy the figures. i'll just part out the headless ones which will hopefully help me recover some of my losses.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

This thread needs to be locked with only Josh able to post in it. Complaining is not going to make it go faster people.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Can somebody contact him?
I know that many of members here knows him in person. Please, try to contact him. This situation is out of control very long time ago, but there was always a tons of bodyguards for Josh, that was always ready to burn anyone who asks Josh about some progress with purchases & etc.
Again, he is a big boy, EVERYBODY have tons of s__t in real life & THIS IS NOT AN EXCUSE.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure he is aware of the situation. Contacting him is not going to make things go faster. I'm not "bodyguarding" him, I'm simply saying that complaining and sending PM after PM is not going to make it go faster, if anything, it will make things go slower for everyone.

Wake up everyone, and stop only thinking only about yourself. This isn't some business transaction with some company that you don't give a crap about the store clerk - this is a guy who shares a fellow hobby with us and is part of our geek community.

One thing is definitely for sure - YOU are NOT on the top of his life priority list, just as I'm sure he wouldn't be if you were in his shoes.... "Baaaah, screw school, my future career, my health, my wife's health, and my family that I haven't seen in ages... I gotta finish my figures for Sined!!!" (and everyone else - just used your name to make a point)

I tried to stay out of this thread, not "defend" Josh but just let him do his thing, but with all this talk of Howes and such, it's the most destructive thing one could say. There is absolutely NOTHING constructive in that type of remark - or a complaining post to the entire world. I have no doubt that my post will accomplish nothing, but seriously people...

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

The sooner people come to terms with the reality of the situation, the easier it will be for them to deal with it. I don't know if the problem is that they aren't getting it, or if they just don't want to. I can understand being frustrated, but I don't understand how anyone thinks venting that frustration is going to produce results, particularly when it's been demonstrated time and again that it only makes the situation worse.

I wasn't talking about you, really.
I know that you are very polite member & I never saw any angry from you.
Wake up everyone, and stop only thinking only about yourself.
Sorry bro, but you are wrong big time with this. NOBODY doing this except Josh. Many people here waiting for more than a year, reading this post's about "Oh sorry guys! Almost finished! Pics this week! You have my word!" & guess what? Nothing again. And what's very important - it's the best situation. There is some folks that he simply ignores. At some point you just can't take this anymore. And with a tons of customizers that always in touch & delivers this situation looks ridiculous.
This isn't some business transaction with some company that you don't give a crap about the store clerk - this is a guy who shares a fellow hobby with us and is part of our geek community.
Again, you wrong. It was a business transaction with a person that offered his figures through the public board & through the public auctions (Horrorbid or smth, I can't remember right now), with a deadline when figures must be ready & 100% pre-pay.
One thing is definitely for sure - YOU are NOT on the top of his life priority list, just as I'm sure he wouldn't be if you were in his shoes.... "Baaaah, screw school, my future career, my health, my wife's health, and my family that I haven't seen in ages... I gotta finish my figures for Sined!!!" This is moral aspect bro. You really don't have a right to use this in this situation. Again, if you will read this thread - almost everybody was with Josh for a long time, but situation isn't changing. And he ignores. He always ignores. He can communicate here with this horrible stories about his hard-life & the stories that he almost finished tons of projects, but he never provides actual info like pics or priority list or smth like this (even moderators offered this idea, but he ignores even this). The info that everybody waits. Why anybody should worry about him with this kind of attitude from his side.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Well I tried, but I fear I may have caused more harm than good. I won't post in here anymore, and just watch for any updates from Josh.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

That's right.
Same situation happened to me when I asked boardies that are able to contact him in person for help.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Harm than good? I think not. You as well as many other customers feel exactly the way you do. I've been waiting on a figure from Josh that at the time of purchase said it will be only a month's time and that "he has it down to a science" meaning that it should have been a quick commission. I have sent a few PM's to Josh over time just asking for an update with most of them just ignored. Putting up a list on this thread and updating them would be a great help and would help eliminate some of these angry/upset comments from his customers. I understand by a lot of members here who defends Josh, that Josh is a good person and means well and I get that. But that does not give the excuse for Josh not to update his customers via this Thread, PM or email. Bottom line is, these were business transactions and promises that were made and not following through. Now I am not bashing Josh, but saying it like I see it and for what it is. Now for me, It's pointless to get upset and stress out because he has my money and I really can not do anything at all and just wait unfortunately. So for those of you who defend Josh, I understand why, but do not attack or make it seem when a customer is demanding some sort of action, that they are the bad guys.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

whoops, i think i qoute for wrong one, meant for sined. Gotta stop drinking in da mornings

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I post this as a friend of Josh and also as someone who has stuff with him for customizing and one that has purchased something from Josh that hasn't arrived so I can see it from both angles.

Upon my receiving my Mustafar Anakin and my Clone Wars Anakin in 2006/2007 and being absolutely overjoyed Josh and I hatched a plan for a Crispy Anakin. Parts and cash was sent and as far as I know it's still on Josh's 'to do - maybe' list.

Since then Josh has offered numerous creations up for sale Joker, Jason, Rorschach, Ash and also his repaints. A lot of these have been completed and folks received them hence the good name Josh has on this forum and the reason for folks having Joshs' back.

Have I received my Crispy Anakin? Nope. Have I complained? Nope. Josh WILL get round to it when he can (or maybe he won't now) but it doesn't matter. I paid for that in 2006/2007. The money is dead and mentally written off.

I purchased some stuff from Josh's sale mid-year that was 'ready to go' with a lick of paint. Have I received this? Nope. Have I complained about it? Don't think so...

My point is that I paid the cash, it's gone, done. In all likelihood I'm not going to see the Crispy Anakin or the sale items but you know what? It doesn't matter.

Josh's Ash/Joker customs etc. cost what $125.00-$150.00 each?

Just leave it. Write it off. Treat it as though you ain't getting it back.

Despite Josh's protestations to the contrary this is going to be the case. Josh has other stuff to think about, school, family, rent. It is the fact that people are biotchign that is causing the extra pressure on Josh to offer explanations.

People you need to do the right thing. You need to tell Josh that whilst it's not cool that you've lost the cash that it doesn't matter.

Ease the burden on the man (and I know he checks this thread) just leave it.

There's a few VERY vocal folks who want answers. Josh has already given them to you.

Just. Drop. It.

The money is dead. Gone. Deal with it.

Same with any items that Josh has of yours...they're only toys. Either rebuy them or not - if they eventually arrive then it's all good.

Do I think it's cool what has happened? Nope.

Am I pissed? Not really, more...niggled.

Do I think that Josh did this on purpose? Absolutely not.

Am I prepared to write off my cash and items? Definitely and you should too.

I know that Josh won't like this because of the man he is he WANTS desperately to make everything right and to get folks sorted out but he physcially can't so we as fellow collectors and fellow human beings need to take any and all stresses away from our friend and drop it.

PS - Josh, I'm only trying to help you out dude...don't kill yourslef over bits and pieces. You too need to conciously take the decision to drop this negativity from your life and move on.

Hell just re-register with a different name if you want to continue to talk crap with everyone on the board (and I truly hope you do) no-one needs to knwo it's you.

Take it easy, love life and choose life.

You Live, You Learn...

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

i agree that he doesn't need this pressure. and i also hope he sticks around, but he doesn't need to change his name. we all fail and fall, but when you come back despite those failings humbled and wiser, that's what being a man is all about. it's what life is. **** happens, right? shame is part of it. i've done some damned shameful things in my life. but accepting that shame and looking those people in the eyes that i disappointed and hurt was necessary, and made me a better person.

i'm all for writing off the cash too. in fact i have, and i would not consider asking josh for a refund at all. but the heads i sent, i would really like to get back. 2 of those i can't replace. i think a lot of people are more concerned about that than anything else. i don't want to force josh to finish, and i want him to feel that relief from getting these monkey jobs off his back. but i really would like to know if/when i can send those heads off to another painter.

anyway. here's my good friend with a message for josh. a message he probably knows all too well already:

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Hello everyone, sorry for the long disappearance. I appreciate the kind words from everyone who actually had kind words, and trust me the unkind ones sunk in and I 100% get why everyone feels the way they do.

Firstly, let me say that I am not coming here because I was pressured to do so... I did it because I needed to. I haven't been online for weeks for anything save for school work. I've been painting, but very slowly but surely.

Dront, you and Sined are at the top of my list. Not because you have waited the longest, but because you two are the most vocal. Is that right to my other customers? No. But I am doing it so that you guys can leave me alone once and for all. I'm not rushing it, but I will post pics here before the weekend is over. I'm not lying, not stalling for time. Pics will be up, believe it or not.

That goes for the SIM as well Ryan, sorry for the continued delay.

As for my life, well... I've had a lot happen. I didn't want to post it here when it happened, because I get a lot of criticism for doing it... like I am fishing for sympathy. Let me say it with all sincerity that I don't want sympathy from anyone, I just report the facts so that people can put a human face on my name and understand why the Hell my attentions are so widespread.

First, my Bachelor's program is 4 classes a semester broken up into two periods of time within the semester. So basically I am doing a couple of tests per week and it is a LOT of work. Again, I will NOT sacrifice my grades for toys. I know I owe a lot of people work, but my future is more important in the end.

Secondly, I am driving my Wife to work as well... which is taxing my days by 4 hours each day.

Yes, I still go to the gym. Because it's all I have right now, and I enjoy it. Sue me. It's only 2 hours a day.

My Wife's Dad had a seizure, which put him in the hospital and had my Wife a nervous wreck. This had a lot of repercussions that spread out into all of the lives of those connected to him, and more that I will not go into...

I've sold as much stuff as I can, but will continue to try and sell more... just to get the money I need to survive. Give me some credit for not being stupid like I was in Oct when I took the commission from Dront. I'm being strong here, and avoiding any further setbacks... at the cost of my own collection.

My Wife and I are filing for Bankruptcy as well, which is time consuming and all that...

So my life continues to get interesting, I'm the same as everyone else in that regard.

Now, I fully intend to do whatever I can to right this situation. But if I am to do this, it means that I will not be online here much. I don't have time to sort through the hundreds of emails I have or the hundreds of PM's I have. I will try when I have time, but I can't promise anything. I'm just going to do what I can, I don't want people to write off their stuff. You will at the very least get your stuff back. THAT I can guarantee. But I definitely appreciate what AH said, cause I have so much that I still need to send him.

As for the Howes thing. I'm NOT ____ing Chris Howes. Remember that. Howes never apologized for anything. He still sells on ebay, he screwed more people around here than anyone in SSF history. I screwed up, yes. But I did my best and am still doing my best to make it right. All who disagree or think I am lying to save my own ass can ____ off. I'm not doing this so I can come back and make money from anyone, I'm not doing it for any other reason than to be free of this burden and NEVER ever touch a brush for personal gain ever again. I think that makes me as un-Howes like as possible.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

i want to punch howes in the balls. i don't want to punch josh in the balls.

therefore josh ≠ howes

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I think everyone who keeps bringing up the Howes reference needs to be treated as such so they can comprehend exactly wtf they're talking about because, honestly, those douches don't have a single clue.
